Lonely Artist thread

What are you working on?
Studying anything cool?

I'm doing some courses and improving gradually, it's been fun. I went back to some old servers I haven't visited in years but they're all dead and nobody is active that much anymore. Where did everybody go?

I'm just trying to make a portfolio and find some work as an illustrator / comic artist. I'm graduating art school this may and I'm probably going to have to NEET it out with my parents for a couple years, before I can get on my feet. It's embarrassing and lonely, but I'm grateful for this opportunity to go pro. Working everyday, but it's a longhaul.

As if you have anything of value that people would want after you die. They’d probably just be happy that you killed yourself. Don’t ruin it by giving them a box of loli porn sketches.

imagine not finding other people to befriend when you do anime, cartoons, comics, or concept art which have the most robust online communities of not only other artists but also fans compared to other art forms.

Literally number one reason I suffer alone for years on end is I simply can't trust anyone.

I like to draw clean furry art but hate ~90% of the online furry community and am genuinely disgusted by the trans types who make up a growing portion of online furry artists. I would have a bigger following if I went to cons to peddle my work but I can never bring myself to do it. What a life.

Something similar but irl. Everyone I knew that used to draw pretty much stopped. I don't have internet art friends either because I'm not a zoomer and don't care or things like discord.

I'm starting up an environment course to try to find some direction in my life

Lately just been mulling over ideas while doing random google maps paintings once a day to keep myself from getting burnt out before course starts.

Rest of this is gonna be a bitch fest so stop reading here. I'm in rough shape bros. Not gonna ramble about my personal life but things aren't going too good for me right now. If I was just being a sad bitch I wouldn't mind but recently a personal project I spent 3 months on completely fell apart and my buddy just blew his brains out in a portashitter. Its okay to laugh btw. He would have enjoyed the humor.

Anyway sorry for the big file size. Couldn't be assed to shrink it.

my drive to create left when they left. the only things i create is what i get paid for. been stagnating since.

Thanks for the condolences. Maybe one day. Ironically the same day it happened I got a really good idea for a long term project. I just don't have the skills yet.

I'm working on art that slightly interests me but can't accept it for what it is
Studying artists I like within the niche
Thinking of learning rendering but I gotta refine form

>What are you working on?
Trying to build a portfolio project for concept art - thought I'd grown enough as an artist/designer to try for something a bit more advanced by worldbuilding and fleshing out a unified setting with designs.
Evidently not - undertaking this project has made it abundantly clear to me that I still have a lot to learn before I can really pull off the shit I want to do. Not just in terms of art fundamentals, but also just "worldliness" - it feels like there's just so much more I need to learn about history, culture, materials, functionality etc. to produce designs beyond just "pretty shapes". Kind of overwhelming.
My technical ability is also not where I'd like it to be , especially with rendering / material indication.
>Studying anything cool?
Just trying to get my current work done for now, but I do plan to buckle down and get back to basics once that's over with. Item and painting studies, mostly.
That and dedicating more time to learning more stuff about the world - feels like I just keep rehashing the same old ideas nowadays.

Hope everyone's doing well..

When I started drawing 7 years ago it was difficult for me to draw for more than an hour a day. I used to feel lonely, and sought out my friends so I could talk to them. That's all changed. Somehow I can draw contentedly for hours at a stretch. When I think of an interesting idea or figure out a problem, I write it down in my journal instead of telling anyone. I've given up quite a few bad habits. No more vidya or TV. It all feels so superficial compared to art. The desire to get a wife has also left me. The fear of growing old alone has been replaced by the fear of a roastie seducing me and stealing my time away from art. Today it was raining as I was studying an old master drawing, with a cup of tea at my elbow. I don't know if this makes sense to you anons but it feels like I've discovered how to live.

>> No.6610952

I am bored of crabbing people on this board and extremely lonely that I'm actually going to start drawing again. The difference is I'm going to draw because I'm tired of being bored. I want to crab but continue crabbing after I post my work.

>What are you working on?

I have recently finished another original piece that I'm quite proud off.
The results so far have been great. Been getting lots of reshare and likes on twitter and facebook. It's a huge deal for me since this mean there are people out there that do like my work for what it is.

Really help motivated me to keep doing my own thing, instead of chasing trends.

What I'm extremely happy about is I'm quite close to reaching the 1k followers milestones using nothing but my own original works, instead of fanarts. Pray for my success anonbros!
