It's been months since I've 'given up' and done any 'serious' art. But recently, I've had the urge to make art again. Before I pick up where I last left off, I wanted to warm up a bit and sharpen my skills again. So, I decided to practice my rendering skills by studying Hiyaudon's Lucarios but in my old style.

Any critiques or ideas on how to fix that damned right ear? I just can't get it to look right.

I like it. Making Lucario look cool is a difficult task in and of itself, since it's usually kind of derpy.
As far as the ear is concerned, it looks like it's turned too sharply to the camera, so I'd flatten the triangle plane out a bit (to be more similar to the left ear). Maybe tilt it back a bit? Also I assume you're talking character right, and not stage right, since the ear on our right looks okay to me.

This is going to make for one hell of a book report.

I began an account for fun. You know, small sketches of random ideas. But as I grew a small audience, I kept trying to one-up myself in terms of quality. Eventually, it was taking me days to get one out since I'd paint something and repaint it over and over again.

I became addicted to seeing the number of likes and favorites growing so any time a newer one didn't surpass the old one, I felt like dogshit.

One day, my dumb ass decided that it would be a great idea to boost audience interaction by doing a giveaway of multiple fully painted sequences. However, since I was at uni at the time, I didn't have enough time to paint the way I usually do. By the time I could touch my art, I'd have forgotten how I painted things in the first place.

It eventually devolved to me being stuck in a cycle of not touching art for weeks and losing my skill, trying to 'relearn' and recapture how I used to do things, being discouraged by how garbage my art turned out to be, repainting a piece again and again, releasing it after weeks of repainting, then feeling guilty of how late I was with those remaining giveaway requests. Eventually, I got tired of always starting back from scratch so I gave up at the peak of my depression caused by some other unrelated thing.

Now, I'm just trying to have fun again. It seems that I managed to retain some of my rendering skills but I'm only decent at it when I'm referencing something else or doing a study. Still, since I can't really draw original things from scratch without a hundred references and a 3D model, I'm starting with my fundamentals like Draw-a-Box (as much of a bad rep as it has).

I am desperate not to stop so that I don't lose my skill and fall back into that vicious cycle though. I'll probably stick around for a while here to get some ideas to sketch and paint as warm-ups before I tackle my own stuff again.

I get where you're coming from with making the account thing. But in my case, I was kind of pressured into making an account, as most artists buddies felt like I was doing a disservice to myself. I eventually made one, and so far so good. I do enjoy the compliments more so not cause of an ego boost, but for a long time I always felt like I was on the "wrong path" with my artwork never understanding how to improve. Seeing those who I look up too speak highly of my works had me see this wrong path idea differently. It wasn't so much I was on the wrong path, but a different one. And that different path is okay as long as I understand where to improve when it comes to my draftsmanship.
Re-learning the basics of animation again and copying Morpho's simplified anatomy book to keep me in check. But it's a nice feeling to know when you found yourself and trying to figure out how to move forward from there.

This comes with a lot of practice and a lot of trusting yourself. In my case, I never look up any kind of references till after the rough is refined and done. I try my best to draw everything from pure imagination (even having to close my eyes and see the image better in my head) AND THEN I would look up refs and see what corrections I can make. Sometimes when making corrections with refs, I liked how it looked when I did attempt said drawing from pure imagination despite the errors, and I simply just clean up from that. However, when I do draw from just my mind, I always recall my teachings like what I've learned from Vilppu or Morpho in this case. Gotta feel the flow.

For perspective Norling's Perspective Made Easy is beginner-friendly book on 3d form in perspective and simple overlaps (for foreshortening). As you study your fundies you'll notice what's wrong with your older art and know how to fix it. rinse and repeat.

One question: do furry's only buy artwork from the characters themselves, or can I also sell artwork from furryes I've created? I draw traditionally and I've been thinking about making very detailed drawings with colored pencils with reinterpretations of classic works of art, but in a furry version, and delivering the physical copy to the client. Repetition is really important for two reasons here. Pattern recognition, and muscle memory. Drawing the same piece of anatomy in different angles is a good way to put in reps. Every once in a while try calculating the rotation of something yourself and compare it to real life or masterpieces

If you want her to look like she's actually in motion you'll want to have some asymmetry in the pose. Try shifting her weight to one side, and choosing a more dynamic pose.
For example, you could tilt her head to the side, and give her a winking expression.
You can also position the shoulders at slightly different heights, and the ears at slightly different rotations.
Looks like you're developing some pretty solid skills tho. Your techniques for the eye and shading are looking good

More likely a lack of confidence in your lines than fundies desu. Lack of confidence normally gets in the way of you properly visualizing something and instead often try to guide your hands into symbol drawing since that's familiar and gives instant recognizable results

That's not socializing dumbo that's just regular "making connections", I mean actually try to make some real friends. I'm talking from personal experience Ce and just trying to point out that there's a very stark difference between people in an art server who just post and comment in the "share your art channel" and those who actually hold discussions in the general chat. I've done both in a myriad of servers and and found that the latter has made me more friends who I can actually call friends, share and support my work, and I've even met with and had drinks with several of them.
