If you are a /beg/inner or /int/ermediate in art, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice.
Use this thread instead of making new threads or post in the drawthread with fundamental exercises.

RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS wide using one of the following methods:
1. screenshot the image and post that instead
2. change camera capture settings to something smaller
3. send to computer and resize in MSPaint

TRY TO BE ACTIVE AND GIVE PEOPLE SOME FEEDBACK.
When giving feedback, avoid vague "advice" - point what's wrong and try to give the anon you're quoting a clear direction to improve their art (study heads < watch THIS VIDEO about head structure, read THIS SECTION of THIS ARTIST'S BOOK, etc).
You, feedback seeking anon, should also try to be clear and concise when asking for critique/help. When posting your artwork, say what you want help with, and what's your goal with the study/artwork.

The lines are so homogenous it could be a linerider level. Work with thinner lines (like the stripe things near the bottom of her shirt), then only thicken certain parts to make them interesting, like where lines meet/folds like the armpits, the overall outline, or other areas of interest.

>> No.6580544

>>6580514
Like most construction and other such diagrams, you are not supposed to do it like that every single time. Do it a few times to get the hang of it, or muscle memory if you will. Or just load the shape in your software and go over the lines to build it up, until you can just yolo freehand the diameter arc and have it look convincing enough.
It's only there so you understand and can compare yourself for accuracy, once you "get it", take the training wheels off.

If you add too much detail it just looks weird, so you need to look as simple as possible so the nose doesn't look like is making the face look much older or is this huge eye sore in the middle of the face. my only suggestion is to try making tonal bar where you figure out smooth easy way how to go from 100% white to 100% black with many steps where you blend the black and white via some crosshatching. >cute. are you color picking the colors or do you have some trick to it? to me it seems like you just shifted hue somehow?
I have 5 or 6 tricks I apply in every drawing, I get different results by changing the order wich I apply each trick and messing around with different color pallets and filters, is honestly even hard for me to explain my entire process because I'm not sure myself, I just do whatever and it works.

In this one I started black and white and hue shifted to bluetones, after that I added more detailed values making sure certain parts would have tons of contrast using multiply layers always making sure to use gradient to make so each value has a proper smooth transition to similar values so the drawing doesn't look flat. I use the cutout filter with the poster edgy filters on the full drawing using ctrl + shift + alt + every so often and making the layer is between 40 and 20 percent to give a posterization effect and clean the drawing without losing the shape and after all is done I start messing around with bleeding modes selecting different layers options and color picking different values using the select color range tool. I make sure the darker values always have the "cooler" colors and the brighter values can have the hot ones with some contrast in between like greens and yellows. Finally I like using even more gradients using the color mess I created to create a vignette effect and blend on hard mix or difference layer mode to on 30% to 50% fill, make sure is fill and not opacity since they behave differently when you use hard mix, and that create several hue shifts like you are seeing in the picture.

As you can tell is pretty straightforward and a simple method I totally not hamfirst in basically doing the equivalent of action digital painting.

The shoulders are set way too low, this causes the breasts to be up way to high, and the neck / head seems to be too far up.

In my shitty 2 second mouse redline, I draw where your clavical kind of is height wise (its pushed back to be in line with shoulders) The tit meat is already there by the clavicle, raise the shoulders up.

Also, the foreshortening on her right arm is kind of messed up. The Sleeve looks like its almost going straight down, not going away from us. And her right forearm is too short, I understand the perspective ideas on it, but its not as far away as the perspective would imply.

Bros I’m so bad at drawing messy hair and I don’t know why. I can do bob cuts and long hair somewhat ok since I can think of the hair as sheets or ribbons when I do that, but if the hair is spiky, frizzy, or thick (like hex maniac and similar), I have no idea what to do. I try to add variation like I would when drawing a tree or cloud, but it all ends up seeming aimless and random. I can’t even seem to use the roots/scalp to guide the flow. It gets worse when I try to color or shade it. It makes me feel like I’m an eight-year-old trying to draw Goku or something. Does anyone have tips? Sorry for the rant.

3 mins is plenty, and I usually feel like more than 2 is too much time, unless doing a fully detailed drawing.
For anything under 5 min, you really should spend the first 30 seconds basically nailing down a stickman and a couple major curves you notice, THEN once you have the full figure like that, spend the rest of the time actually adding flesh and details, so you don't end up missing half the limbs by the end. Don't try to make pretty clean figures, try to get the pose down as quick as possible, then if any parts were too long, short, wrong angle, etc. Just correct over them even if messy. Get a loose exaggerated gesture down first, then do a second pass to give structure and "harden" it more accurately.

Some of them don't look like cylinders exactly; the middle-left one appears to be more like a cone that tapers irregularly from a round base to an oval top, and has had its tip cut off. I gotcha, I was just curious. I'm sure his course is worthwhile, just that I notice the fundies are a part of everything. There's always a little bit of worth in checking those skills since they're such fine motor skills.

If one foot is in front of the other, then the hip on that side should be slightly dropped.

fucking spheres man, how do they work?
first try making these, happy with at least a handful. my lines are so wobbly that it's hard to get the ellipses to fit, plus having to try and get them to align properly and have to darken just one side

So here is an update.

I was wondering what would be the best way to draw the clothes on the ground including Elly's panties and bra?

You wouldn't see the outline of the breasts through the jacket.

Needs a slightly more defined chin, it just kind of looks like head and neck run together but overall really good

Hello beg, today i feel very ashamed since i traced from book which is like 1000something years old. At least it is fair use.

>>6583845
very basic but respectable. thumbs up
>>6583827
drawing ellipses is one of the hardest thing to do, keep at it
>>6583628
the sharp solid line makes it super easy to see mistakes and places where your hand slowed down or wobbled while if you use some fuzzy brush the texture will hide a lot of small inaccuracies
>>6583593
damn thats unique. i kneel
>>6583308
if you cannot draw what you see then you either need to read keys to drawing to level up / unlock the observation skill OR you have some mental trauma from hairs which makes you believe you cannot do it. Zoom in, see how simple the hair are rendered in your reference and then draw what you see.
>>6583272
dammit that is cool as fuck
>>6582498
you are making me want to test out the local mods and just draw some my little pony study to see if i will get banned for that lmao
