He's a wannabe samurai traveling through Central America exorcising/befriending ghosts in rural Mexican villages and later through the jungles of Guatemala to confront Mayan gods. He fights with power lent to him by his rooster spirit guide (as seen on his haori)

Also fun fact: his mom made his clothes for his birthday, the flames and rooster designs came afterwards since that's where his spirit guide hides.
I know it probably sounds lame but I want one of the central themes of his story to basically be, "fake it till you make it" or unironically "the power of believing" since in-lore legends/gods/ghosts/etc. are born when people actually believe in them and tell their stories to others, kind of like a more fantastical version of religion today.

Winner of Round 1 here.
You should join regardless of what other competitors will do. It's a fun challenge for yourself to develop your character's personality and abilities under circumstances out of your control, it forces you to honor a deadline and to have a completed project.
It's problem-solving, comic making, all about your own character, if you aren't already working on your own project on a regular basis, why not give it a whirl?

Sure, it's nice to get matched against a great artist and get some "free fanart", but you should think of that as a bonus, not a guarantee.
I drew 33 pages for my own entries (9 on 1st round, 11 on 2nd, 13 on 3rd) while my opponents drew a total of 9 pages (2/0/7, respectively).
You'd think I should've given up after round two, but it's not about others, it's about myself having fun and feeling proud to finish the challenge.
Round 3 was a blast to work on, my opponent even teamed up with me to help me finish my comic on time, friendship comes from where you least expect, truly a shounen moment in my life.

Official answer: Each stage takes two weeks, but there is a grace period between stages that lasts between 3 and 5 days approximately.
This respite is based on the thread I create in /co/ to officially expose the works (at least one per stage). And as long as the thread is up, users can either relax or use it as extra time to finish their entries.

As you will be working in a team, you can and should coordinate with the other party to support you if you can't put in as much effort during a period.

Again, If it's a lazy or poor entry... it doesn't matter so much - the only crime is not delivering anything, really

Right some details.

Balkari is held as the strongest demon and being of her world. She is a white tiger demon born from a desire of "never losing". However, many years ago she lost a fight against a legendary hero and since then she lives a depressed existence as a drunkard bum.

Balkari is not evil despite her demonic status, but gloomy and aggressive. She believes in honor but often kills people because she is unable to control her strenght.

She is an expert at any martial art and will learn them by observation alone. Her body is impossibly hard, she uses her braid which is strong as an elevator wire to fight. She will instantly learn any weapon too.

Balkari is also ridiculously agile and even more strong. She has pulverized demons with a punch from the sheer physical impact caused, turned into fine mist. Its suspected she could destroy the planet by stomping on it enough times.

She is also susceptible to being controlled by a witch or magic-user to some degree.
Her depressive mood makes it so that its not too difficult to simply make her lose all motivation.

anyways lorewise, she's just a half human half demon and has to sustain herself on normal human sustenance and the souls of sinners.
