By artbooks, do you mean "how-to" guides or retrospectives, or just a humongous bucket of his comic work? I have the latter.

I mostly just want to look at the art in good resolution, analyze and try to copy some to get a grasp of it, so a bucket would do great - or even parts of it.

It's a huge book, anon - hundreds of pages! I've contacted the guy who posted the stuff at E-H to see if he's interested in expanding that gallery. Might just have to make a new one.

>>6554274
>Makes sense, scanning with the phone didn't work I guess?
That's how I got https://e-hentai.org/g/1511326/24d0204823/, but it's grueling work for a book this size.

Additionally, the meat of the book in the middle are his covers for the Saturday Evening Post. Leyendecker painted more covers for the Post than anyone else, including Norman Rockwell - who's the more famous of the two for having painted SEP covers! - but most of them in the book are shown nine-to-a-page with the occasional full-page reproduction. It would be neat if we could get large versions of all his SEP covers, including the ones the publishers of >>6554136 didn't think warranted it.

There was a nice thread on /hr/ a while back that had a bunch of hi-res stuff. I swear that was floating around here at some point, too ...

>>6554268
>Thanks anon, if you're willing to share.
I'll see what I can do. I picked up an enormous trove of his comics - mostly in Italian - from a torrent which has likely since died... but I still have the material, so all I have to do is find a good way to share it.

I've been hearing around abour Rinotuna books for a whie but I never download them yet, I'd like to ask if someone could give me a quick summary of:

1- How many books does he has-
2-Are they all translated or only a few?
3- Are the all available or only a few?
4- Are they all good or there's a particularly good one I should have?

I think that's the most important questions for now.

For actually coming up with designs, fashion magazines and Pinterest. Vogue has the Vogue Runway app that includes not just the new shows but a lot of older ones too.

Actually drawing, I like:
>Fashion Sketchbook
>Marker Rendering for Fashion, Accessories, and Home Fashion
These were both on Archive at some point but are also really cheap to buy, too. The books are fairly large so the scans won't be super clean, just heads up.

there are lots of styles for ink drawing, i will not assume which style you want and instead list some random ones. Alphonso Dunn's books are good and basic but with enough room to grow, J.D. Harding isn't specifically ink but his style is lent to ink wonderfully, Albrecht Durer isn't a teacher necessarily but is a great artist in pen and ink, Franklin Booth is similar, Ed Gorey and Aubrey Beardsley have some unique pen and ink styles, for some more generic stuff search up "Kale James books" on amazon and he/they/it (idk them beyond this series) has a lot of books with some old and traditional pen and ink rendered art, Rahul Jain has a decent series, and finally Arthur Guptill's classic Rendering in Pen and Ink is my personal favorite (followed by Dunn's books because the workbook is amazing). i am that anon complaining about the Chinese pen and ink book, i have quite a few and pen and ink realism style is one of my favorites. there's also some decent collections of American newspaper style art and illustration from like 1850-1950 that might fit, you just have to search "pen and ink art book and you'll see what i mean."
>>6579789
in theory i have that too, assuming the delivery guys have the mailbox key that they should have, my box is just behind a door and code so often times they just pull down the street, look, see that they can't lean out and deliver to a box that comes right up to them, mark it undeliverable, and drive away. i see them do this, my brother delivers for USPS ffs and he admits to doing this, then goes off on his own rants when amazon or UPS or whatever is a day late. just replace it with drones already, these people don't deserve jobs.

>take donkey's years
Yup, that's how it supposed to be done. You literally need to be ready to spend a few thousand hours at least. At 3h per day every single day, that's about 3 years of work. That's a lot.

Don't overthink it, don't look for the best method: copy great/good/decent art, and try to understand how it's done.

Like, you see on your picrel, you do your copy. Then you try to use the same approach to draw something original (interpret a picture say): you'll make mistakes, you'll encounter difficulties, and those will help you better understand *why* he's doing what he's doing.

For instance, in your last picrel, the first image is of critical importance when drawing directly with ink to ensure decent proportions: he's blocking-in major elements, while ensuring basic horizontally/vertically alignements, all with just a few well-chosen pieces of lines.

The title on eBay or Amazon is "Pen drawing freehand performance techniques from entry to the master(Chinese Edition)." It's pretty much what it looks like, Chinese ink painter (I think, from what I could translate) does a 230ish page manual going over what you'd expect. I have quite a few pen and ink manuals and thought this one might be a cool book to thumb through, they are all obviously very similar but this guy does have some good knowledge like the blocking in technique and a few perspective photos that for me at least make some of the most sense of all the examples I've seen. I had to call Amazon and complain to solve kid to update the seller to update the courier because they used a Chinese courier who must have flown to East coast USA seeing as how their HQ is LA based I guess, and update the courier in Chinese what my building code is because presumably he couldn't read what was on the instructions. Absolutely wild procedure but it was 19.99, a two week wait, and a phone call. The guy from Amazon read out the title as per their script like 4 times and it was pretty funny.

>"Blue Period" always makes me think of Picasso.
Isn't "blue period" specifically named after Picasso's own "blue period"? Of course it would remind you of him.

Yeah, the series is named after Picasso's Blue Period and it's mentioned a few times in the manga. It's about a teenager's journey into art as a complete beginner and going to art school, it touches on a lot of real life artists, techniques, the art industry ect.

I'm 30 chapters in, and so far it's all modern art nonsense. I think I liked Kaku Kaku shikajika better

Those are gesture drawings, if anatomy gets in the way of the action of the figure, it's left out. Don't copy, analyse.

Hampton is a honey trap. He has gorgeous illustrations, telling you everything is so easy just do this and this and look how it all has structure.
Once you start applying hampton you notice his gesture drawings are inconsistent, he has no link to his references of his gesture drawings.
His anatomy explanation is a joke, although his drawings are on point.
His description of light or tone is like 3 pages, some wrote whole books about.
His usage of line is super advanced, every line can have a different purpose from cross contour, describing overlap, cross hatching for tone, construction line, etc.
You get no explanation.
Perspective? Ha, don't even remember he mentioned it anywhere.
Proportions? No!
Basically Hampton is a very good source for advanced artists to get new ideas and new concepts, or to honeytrap new artists thinking they will learn drawing from that one book.
Don't get me wrong, it is a great book, but it is not a good introductory book for anything really, except it shows if you apply all those fundamentals correctly you get great results.
Hampton for the beginner is good to look through and copy and apply the concepts which are well explained, of which there are few unfortunately.
It is more a book for advanced artists who see what concepts he applied well, which they still can't and want to improve upon.
Grade for beginner usefullness: D
Grade for advanced usefullness: A-

>hurdurr this book is too hard for begs
No, begs are not using their brain more. Someone who tries it out first and asking the question to the right people will always come on top not just in drawing but different aspects of life too.

You have access to good artists or what? From my experience many artists can't even verbalize why a specific aspect is important, or why it works, or why it even is beautiful. They just "do" it that way.
