Not OP but,
I did not go to art school and I stand by my decision not to because I believe it to be a waste of time and money. A degree is not required for an art career, and art schools teach no valuable skills.
However, I do regret that I did not go to art school because it would have been an enjoyable experience to socialise with other artists for a few years.

I'm an autist who went to art school to get good. I didn't date anyone from there nor did I go to many "hang outs".

But it does afford you access to life drawing and four years where it is encouraged to spend all of your free time drawing. If you attend for animation, it allows for easy opportunities for group work, you're also put on a direct track for internships with the likelihood of being hired directly after graduation. You'll find a lot more NGMI "I've been studying fkr ten years and my art hasn't changed at all" permabegs who never went to art school than those who did.

Trust me, everything that they teach in art school can be found on YouTube. Hell, multiple classes were basically the teachers YouTube playlist!
