And don't think it's that easy of a job for everyone - I've read about people who find the idea of cleaning their entire room so stressful they breakdown, thus breaking down his advice further, just clean your desk; if that's too much, just clean up part of your desk for now etc.
Keep doing these things until you've cleaned your room, by the end of it, you should have grown some self control and tolerance, and your ready to do the next thing.

Looks like a filter he applies, drop shadow on some of the lines? Using dodge/burn for rendering is normally a no no too, But he doesn't have much choice I think.
He has done more "correctly" rendered stuff, but I imagine it just takes too long for a finished piece. The nose here is good though!
