>> No.6525070

Sometimes you just get banned and don't bother coming back.
I used to hang out in a forum, after a couple of weeks being banned 35 times a day for racism, sexism, piracy or holocaust denial and only having actually done it in maybe 30 of them I figured the problem was the platform and one day I just never came back.

When it's a jap artist he probably moved on to some obscure nip site that bans barbarians on sight and nobody bothered to repost his work where you're looking.

he is done with random illustrations and is focusing on comic now, comic streams get low viewer numbers so he stopped streaming altogether
he has this dumb idea where he should finish 10 chapters 180+ pages each before he starts publishing it, which wouldn't even be that bad if he didn't have worst case of perfectionism redrawing each page 5 times

unless you mean the ones drawing pedo shit and such which could land them in jail, vanillas nuking their shit most often stems from their overt perfectionism or lack of attachement to their work and/or plain hubris

I don't understand why the western art world is like this when every artist understands they are all degenerate at heart so whats the big deal? However I do notice the french get away with this fore example balak is working for fucking DC now and no one ever complains about jj frenchie/joel jurion

Every time I've seen it happen, it's because an artist is crazy insecure and self-loathing and will delete all their work in a rage as it's "not good enough".
Minus8 does it all the time, recently there was a guy I followed who did a lot of women in realistic knight suits who flipped as well.

Another reason is they simply move on from art, and rather than delete everything, things just get lost as no one was up keeping it, like Ryan Armand or Subsub (Joseph Lambert).

I follow someone who has chronic episodes of nuking their stuff. Not that they delete everything (though they regularly delete stuff), but mainly it's that they deactivate their account whenever they're having an episode.

Afraid I can't say; I lost track of him when he disappeared. If I'd known he'd do it, I would have saved some of his stuff, it was fairly sudden too; just a single cryptic post about how there are more talented people than him and how he doesn't deserve to have followers, then he nuked his account shortly after.

On another note, it seems like several other artists out there are trying to fill the niche that he left, because I see a few other artists drawing the same subjects now.

Man, do you guys remember the names of all the artists you follow? I follow over a thousand artists so I can just quickly scroll through my timeline and see some decent art - though obviously I remember the ones that really do it for me.

Anyway, I did a quick scroll and found @vanishlily, though they're far more anime, they draw some nice scenarios. The other guy drew far more realistic figures and only did grayscale images.
Ah, and here's @WassNonnam, who's even closer to the other guy, but still too anime and not quite realistic enough.

Hope they were what you were hoping for anon.

>Every time I've seen it happen, it's because an artist is crazy insecure and self-loathing and will delete all their work in a rage as it's "not good enough".
This is it for me, having a portfolio is difficult because I want it to portray my current skill level which means I have to get rid of the old things constantly. I don't want potential clients to look at a year old drawing that I consider to not be good anymore. The negative side of this is that I barely have anything to show in the first place since I don't have a backlog of art for people to see.

t.literally nuked my twitter before I saw this thread just now.

Have two accounts; One for posting everything in, sketches and finished pieces, and everything in between; Another for your absolute best pieces - your "portfolio".

Make a rule for yourself to not delete anything from account one, but feel free to be very selective for account two.

Otherwise, don't post controversial art that you were man enough to draw, but too pussy and afraid of possible backlash to show.

In the case of nip artists it's usually their seasonal existential crisis where they make up an entirely different personality and style and pretend to be someone else just because they want to draw something else that month.

>> No.6526804

As someone who has done it and currently doesn't have any profile, insecurity and motivation, meaning, why am I even posting stuff on the internet? For people to see? What's the purpose of that, apart feeding your ego or building parasocial relationships, which I all find toxic. I just become too self aware of that and also the moment I post something I instantly see all the flaws, and since a lot of my self worth is based on knowing how to draw well. Maybe one day I'll have an actual finished product that I can post, since that I feel would make more sense to share. I do post stuff online, don't get me wrong, just strictly work stuff though, with clients/colleagues or finished work pieces for promotional monetary reasons. I can do that because I built a layer of separation between my work persona and my real art one, which is quite different and real to me. In the end it probably all boils down to low self esteem.
