I don't think the face style suits the rest of the body, the hatching on the hair needs consolidating into one or two shapes (sinix talks about this as hair being a graphic element) the shoulder looks quite muscular, not sure if that's intended. the cell-shading looks interesting in places but inconsistent, looking at the underboobs and the odd value distribution specifically. the neck is really thick and and her totally rounded chin makes her look overweight and chinless rather than pudgy and cute

-line weight. be more mindful about how and why you put down lines and its thickness. for example the lower line of her ass would be thicker than the ones turned towards the light source.

I was worried over nothing :)
After sending him 4 free sketches to choose from, he chose two! I'll finish one straight away and he asked to hire me again to finish the other sketch as well later.
Looks like he wasn't trying to scam me for more sketches and he wasn't overly picky, he was just creatively bankrupt and needed some help. Putting in some effort to do just that, payed off nicely in this case.

He claimed that it's very rare for artists to put in so much time into sketches that will be discarded anyway. Seems weird to me, it's just more practice that any artist worth their salt would do anyway. I hope he's not trying to butter me up for some kind of favor like letting him pay later (aka never).

Overall I'm pretty happy with how it's going. I'll be proceeding with caution, but also with some optimism.

The lack of perspective play on the mouth is a missed opportunity, the curvature of the top lip and teeth should be especially pronounced in this view. Bring the tongue more to a point, google "Sexy tongue" and you'll see plenty of examples.

Fingers are blocky and inelegant, front and center puts them on show. Fingertips; As you approach any form of sideview there's a slope towards the nail bed. Don't need to render knuckles but most important is shaving a little off the sides from middle section of the fingers onwards; Middle finger loses some mass on both sides while the others can get shaved down on the sides that would touch the middle finger. This gives an impression of the natural curvature of the fingers. My ability to draw thumbs are shit, but that don't look right at al.

this could've been said two or three or ten years ago, there's always been an abundance but commissioners still want personal work. I've just checked twitter analytics and my posts have lost anywhere between 20-80% engament and views compared to similar posts (single pics, collages, open for comms) even though I've gained followers since then and actually interact with people, post on artshares etc. Then you see a 1-2month old account (that admittedly has a unique style/caters to a healthy niche consistently) that gets the 10 or 20k milestone and can't help but see it as a blackpill. Draw stuff people want to commission and make yourself available. When you have a known brand what you draw and in what style, people into it are more likely to pick you up. Of course drawing well matters too, but not as much whether your stuff tickles the viewer's personal funny bone and if your art reaches their eyes. It does help to keep audience updated on your comm situation. Each time I close the comms, there's surge of new comms when I open them. Also imo hyperfixating on one topic is generally when I improve most, and other artists I like have said similar.
