What would Loomis say about anime's "I study at the library" head proportions?

>> No.6494392

if you're trying to imply that loomis method doesn't work for anime heads then you're an idiot

anime heads are closely proportioned towards children and sometimes even baby heads. it makes it look cuter. women sometimes emphasize the presence of their foreheads to lok more youthful so exaggerated proportions on characters is something all artists do
these are head types that are covered in his books
i can't imagine loomis would take issue with what illustrators do to make sellable art

he would understand that to balance big face features you need a big head or else it will look bad, and he wouldn't be doing useless threads trying to mog something he didn't understand like OP, less shitposting and more grinding sweaty

I mean, he focused on realistic art, right? And he probably did not see much anime in his lifetime. I think we could extend this question to "What would Loomis say about anime stylisation in general". I read his book about drawing heads and he talked about the interesting variety in human faces, so I think he could be disappointed in anime leaving out potentially interesting features. On the other hand, he also talked about changing the proportions of the head to achieve different effects, so maybe anime head proportions that are deformed to make the character look cuter could be interesting to him. I like this question, pretty interesting.

Same thing he said about Tex Avery. That he wished he was that good.

He would probably laugh so hard then die from a stroke like the boomers here.

i love that this thread is just shitting on OPs retarded misunderstanding of how anime heads work.

Loomis was fully aware of stylized cartoon proportions. You have to understand the rules in order to break them.
