I'll be honest, I do prefer the pale orange one since it's still vibrant but more nuanced than the initial colour scheme. This one kinda lacks the same energy but would work fine if it was for a moodier-looking character.

Could also try going full pure light cyan with the hair and body but give her orange inner ear coating + eyes.

How long have you been doing it? I have been doing this for about a year on various boards, but I mostly get ignored. That is to be expected, though. I did manage to get a female woman interested in me on two occasions, but they were both a continent away (so we couldn't meet up in real life), and I always ended up scaring them by accidentally revealing that I knew a lot about them since I tend to gather tidbits of information from our conversations and then I manage to find their real identities. However, it feels like you're still stuck in mental games. Kind of surprising after all this time. You probably know why you are where you are. How would I go about designing my own OC?
I've been drawing fanarts and such for quite some time, and I see some designs I absolutely love, but I lack the ability to just take what I love from those designs and make my own. It either feels like im stealing, or that I'm too far away from what I wanted in the first place. For example there is this one OC designed by an artist, he has one picture of it. It has absolutely blown me away. Not the art, but the OC. Very simple, yet so soulful, but when I try to make a similar one, it either feels like I'm blatantly stealing, or it's too far away from the original material.

How good and popular do I have to be to get my art uploaded on e6 by some autistic fan? I'm not shameless enough to do it myself.

That's fine, not everyone is gmi big time. Do it as a hobby, doodle in free time, it's fun. But don't swim in delusions and self loathing.
I'm not trying to hurt you. I'm speaking from experience, I've been at it more than you. The more effort I've put in, the more gains I had. And I'm on a decent pace right now since learning to "just do it" and not worry about it.
Some years I didn't improve at all, but that's because I barelly drew. And keep in mind, it takes certain amount of work to "stay afloat" or you'll be regressing even.
You won't find a solution here. You'll get ocasional "that leg is wrong", "that finger is wrong" or "that looks good", but in grand sceme of things it doesn't change anything, it's noise.

I like the soft shading and colors, and I think everything else looks quite good actually. Just the face is very slightly (and I do mean slightly, it's not ugly by any means) off.

Zooming in I noticed your lines are a bit shaky, you could mess with the stabilization settings in the drawing program that you use. I find it helps me and I'm someone with very shaky hands.
I bring the stabilization down for sketching and then increase it for line work.

I feel like your art might benefit from color lines. All you have to do is add a clipping layer to the lineart layer and you can paint over the lines with a dark blue. Best part with clipping layers is that it doesnt alter the original layer if you dont like it.

Oh, I thought you were just worried it'd be hard. You don't have to do it if you don't want, but if you ever do, it's pretty simple.
Another thing you can do if you want it to be more subtle is to do my method, and then gaussian blur the fuck out of the layer, for a nice, subtle glow effect. Try out a couple things, you might find something you like.

Don't be afraid to push the gestures early on. The more you clean up the drawing, it will stiffen up a bit, so it's good to go loose when you can.
I'd say, let the up close pony be more zoomed in while the other one more zoomed out. Play with the perspective a bit to be slightly more dynamic. Or that's how I feel, anyways.

I'd recommend someone like Hampton or Morpho for some studies. You're doing a lot of guess work and without proper anatomy knowledge, it'll be difficult for you to improve. Once you have more knowledge, it'll be a lot easier to determine what you're doing that's off and make the adjustments accordingly. Overall, keep drawing but also put studies into your drawing schedule.
