Still can't draw a good pic of this guy, or even come up with a cool design like him.

How does his art manage to be both awkwardly drawn with flaws everywhere and godlike at the same time?

In terms of making the type of stuff I want? Yeah I achieved it many times over. In that I consider myself fortunate to have had the time and focus to get that far. In monetary success and notoriety? Not even close lol.

i've achieved some but not others. i'm at least confident enough to make short comics nowadays.

genuine passion and confidence in art, he wont go and relearn things the "right" way because his aesthetic pursuits are more about a striking image that reminisces people of his inspirations rather than just being good for the sake of good

I'm finishing up an animation degree and know enough Japanese to apply to be a keyframe artist for some shows. It's shit money but I want to do it for some professional credits and also for the novelty of "fulfilling" my dream to be an animator or mangaka in Japan when I was like 12.

I’m happy with my drawings and I think they’re fun to create. Yes, I think I’ve made it.

>> No.6483587

I started to draw 2 years ago and a few months in my top fav artist acknowledged me. Now I have monthly supporters and making hundreds of bucks a month from commissions that are stuff I would draw anyways. I guess at the moment my goal would be improving and having fun.

>got a small following
>got a gf (now an ex though)
>became friends with some jp artists
>learned new skills and techniques from said friends
>not the best but finally feel satisfied with my current skills
Now I'm working on a possible webcomic after plotting some stories/OCs last year. Still need to finish up on some research for it though.

One of my favorite artists bookmarked my art, and they only have 5 bookmarks in total now. That was an art goal of mine.
It was cool for a day but it didn't change anything of course.
It doesn't matter how many external validation milestones you get, the treadmill never ends and you always feel the same. The feeling of satisfaction and achievement can only come from within.

Being happy is the only art goal that matters.

>> No.6483688

My one art goal is for my skills to be acknowledged by all the artists I look up to. But with every sempai who notices me, two more take their place. It's a never ending challenge, but the journey yields it's own reward.

NTA but I occasionally get wrestling commissions as well. Wrestling is fairly niche, so the following is probably not going to be large. But the amount of people willing to pay is much higher and there's less amount of people who could draw good wrestling scenes (because two or more human bodies contorting against each other is quite difficult) so if you're halfway decent you could make a name for yourself. Even moreso if you target some popular fandom. I know an artist who draws FE girls duking it at one another, and another artist drawing Touhou wrestling girls.

No, but its because my goals were unrealistic too. I wanted to be good at Drawing, Music, Animation (3D). But I don't have the IQ to learn fast enough inside my life struggles and social status. Nor do I have the stable personality for it.
It hurts but, at least I am much closer to being good at drawing than I was a teenager

Sometimes a part of me regrets not taking the sacrifice of willingly give some years of my life, taking ADHD meds everyday to force myself to do all these things. I know if I was rich, this is all I would do.
Go to FZD, get myself a personal teacher/lessons to speed up the process. It is what it is.
