Is there a seamless way to stream your PC to an ipad's touch screen? I already have Duet for other purposes but it seems laggy. I've realized cintiqs are a meme and I'm tired of using this behemoth

Have you tried using a smaller one? The only meme ones are the retarded huge ones, anything 16 inches or above is good enough and isn't as cumbersome. Other brands also have smaller stands so it doesn't eat your whole desk.
Otherwise, why not just learn procreate or w/e on your ipad?

ipads are a meme because I still need the power of desktop apps.

Yeah I have the biggest one, I thought I needed to use my whole arm and it'd be less claustrophobic but it's kind of the same. Like >>6468811 said I need to learn all of zbrush and I think the long journey would be more bearable on an ipad

I do know about the airplay screen mirroring stuff but I'll look into lonelyscreen
>>6468846
That's right. Really though? Don't games stream with zero lag nowadays? I guess I'll try my current screen mirroring on a wired connection, if it werks then it's a small sacrifice

yes and no, if theres a product that may do it lag free it would be citrix remote pc access.
Sadly I don't have access to one to test it. Good luck

astropad/luna display is alright but you have to buy a dongle and the quality will vary a lot depending on the strength of your wifi. imo streaming is still only really good for doing simple stuff like flats and color block ins or bitchwork like retopo

you're probably better off getting comfortable with procreate/artstudio/csp on the ipad and just learning to do more of your workflow with that rather than trying to stream pc software at this point

I can do it with Sidecar to use my Ipad as a monitor for my Mac Mini.

Its seamless for the apple ecosystem. No idea if you are windows tho.

duet works perfectly on the latest Ipad pro.
It lags on earlyier model. what Ipad are you using? you might just need to upgrade

I have the 2019 pro which I think should be powerful enough. I would hope it's a wifi issue, I don't really know how system intensive these programs are on the ipad side, but I'll find out once my 10 ft usb c gets here

I have the M1 and haven't discovered a way yet. CSP on tablets is a rip-off and I wish I could mirror the PC. Unfortunately it seems every compatible mirroring app is subscription based and iOS is annoying as fuck to pirate on.

My setup started out as Macbook Air (11-inch, Early 2015) + Cintiq 16.

+Pros: You can use desktop apps and the screen is nice. Requires an HDMI dongle for the mac I have.
-Pen is really light

-Cons: Always looking for an outlet, not really portable, screen is dim.

>>6468950
Fucking sidecar. This was my main attraction to upgrading my mac, but after getting the M1 Mac, the shiny screen and the fact it forced you to be on Monterey I believe, anyways, there as never a light a macbook as the Early 2015 version at 2.38 pounds. This shit is so light, it doesn't feel like you're actually holding a laptop.
BUT it's the last laptop that couldn't use sidecar because of the processor. The next mac after it can, but they never made another 11 inch with sidecar, even hacking it doesnt work because the processor just cant handle it.

So I returned my M1.

The 11 inch ipad Pro 3rd gen weighs only 1.03 lb, good brightness, good hz refresh rate, but you're stuck with procreate.
But it's the most portable drawing system ever, and the pen feels nice albeit a little heavy and needs to be charged which the wacom one doesnt, but it really never comes up that often.

also yes as >>6469634
you may figured out they make a hdmi to usb c cable. but ipads don't have a cursor so you can hook it up to a tv you jsut can't see where youre about to put down a line.
