When's the last time any one of you have visited an art museum? I just want to know if you guys actually support the arts.

I went to one in college about 4 years ago. It was a unique experience but I was more concerned how I've lived near the ocean for most of my life and have never strolled around the shops and buildings near the area. So much to see but I never go to do it.

Used to go regularly before lockdowns, nowadays I occasionally go to historical/local museums to collect refs.

2020 before the lockdown bullshit. As much as I'd like to revisit a few, they're all in San Francisco, which is a shithole I refuse to step foot in unless absolutely necessary.

Sorry I’m not a fag like you anon, I actually draw everyday. Go sip your delicate Chardonnay with all of the other pretentious wastes of space who cum at the sight of bananas taped to walls.

Idiot. May as well ask when the last time you let a man tickle your balls.

Two days ago I went to the MET. I toured the Arms and Armor, Medieval arts, English Renaissance and Mayan art exhibits. Next time I hope to draw some classical sculptures and study the 1250-1800 European paintings and revisit other ancient and cultural exhibits. What's great about the MET is that there's something for everyone whether you're an abstractfag, classicalfag, historyfag, or archaeologyfag. I would like to stay there all day reading and looking at everything.

They don't have any rules anymore I'm unvaxxed and they don't ask anything and most people don't wear masks inside at all but I get it if you just don't want to go because of the past treatment.

It’s almost like the banana example was used for the express purpose of comedic effect. Fuck me, sometimes this board makes Reddit seem appealing.

For a dedicated art museum? Probably last spring, their events this year were kinda shit.

I'm taking my mother out to a traveling exhibition this weekend but that's at a local market.

they're also going hard with the social justice angle more than ever.
and some require you to sign up for a time ticket ever since the lockdowns. i don't know how it is in most other museums, but it used to be that you can just show up. i used to show up to museums just whenever i felt like it.
shame, i met some really cool people who work in museum.

I think it was last year around March I went to the Vancouver Art Gallery. They had a few different exhibitions but the biggest was the Yoko Ono and John Lennon one on the first floor and the William Shakespeare one on the top floor. There was also a technology based exhibit on the second floor and the third floor had more traditional artworks like painting and sculptures from Emily Carr and other artists.

Like a year ago they had a van gogh exhibit but when I showed up they had 0 originals and it was all just his art projected onto a wall. The time before it was at my citys main art museum and I went because they had leonardos actual anatomy works and it was pretty good to see live but 80% of the exhibit after that was "modern art" toilet with pipes through them tier bullshit.

Don't plan to ever go to one again I think.

Like three weeks ago. I've been trying to go in the past 5-6 years even before I decided on my journey of art. It was a good time, even better than before when I was 12 or 13 which was the last time I went. Dunno if I would do it too much, but it's good when you can.
