Should you upscale it to fit your canvase or just work from the original reference. Has anyone here tried projecting onto a canvas and then painting?

You have to fudge the dimensions since all the images are squares, but that’s not too tough. I find it’s better not to do an underdrawing since a lot of the aspects of each AI image are kind of nonsense. So I find the most success with painting directly onto an undercoated painting. Like really the best way to make the AI images into paintings is to heavily HEAVILY draw with the paint. It’s almost similar to plein air painting if you’ve done some of that. You homogenize details in a similar fashion. I’d say if you want to get better at translating the AI images into oil paintings next summer you should get out and do some plein air work. That’s how I feel doing them, it’s not necessarily useful painting from photos to practice for them since the AI is never as precise as a photo

What do you mean get a better model? Using famous people is better because there’s millions of images of them already that the AI can reference.

Also if you mean model like source image or whatever pretty much all of these aren’t done with me inputting source images. But like pic related you can tell pulled from a source image of Kate from lost putting her hair up in a tanktop and then simulated what she’d look like nudey. It’s like Frankensteining a bunch of different data and images and then building them into an approximate nudey and then placing it into a typically lit setting. That’s pretty impressive tbphwyf.
