how do you study art like this and find what to learn? He doesn't draw things "correct" and anatomically accurate. The lines criss cross all over the place and there are lots of extra lines everywhere. The toilets lines are jagged and wobbly. Look at her calves.

u ever notice how a sketch looks better before you clean it up? theres more going on in the sketch than the outline, theres lines indicating form over the figure, and drawing your eyes to the bolder darker lines that wouldnt be present in a clean version. think of comic book cover art, the lines are very crisp but they have differing line weight depending on where the focus of the art is, while leaving a bit of the hatching in there to give you more to look at, and solidify the gesture of the pose. pic related would look terrible with a 1/1 outline over the whole body, but looks amazing with the differing line weights.

learn to master basic 3d volumes without a grid from all angles, and then learn to stack them etc. the raw 3d form mileage and confidence is how you get things to look loose and effortless. also don't count lines- that's how you stiffen up and become fearful. instead focus on the shapes the lines are containing

Doing a lot of quick 30 sec - 15 min gesture drawings helped me loosen up a lot.
When Kim drew his approach reminded me of doing gesture drawings, he just let his arm flow without second guessing much.
A lot of that confidence also comes from knowing the subject matter well enough.
