It’s a personal project for my concept art portfolio, I’m making a magic village that experiences polar night. The time of year attracts good and evil spirit monsters and the villagers carry decorated lanterns with wards to protect themselves. I haven’t fine tuned a story, but that’s actually easier for me than design.

The placement of Megaman's bulge is inaccurate. Specifically, you forgot to take into account the area of his perineum, so the bulge is currently peaking out from between his buttocks.

My advice is that you lower the end of the cleft of his butt. After that, you should raise his bulge until it is placed above said cleft.

Also, I recommend that you flip your picture, so that you can find other errors that may have gone unnoticed.

I like the way in which you rendered his skin; it has a sort of glossy look that makes it appealing. However, his left eye is placed lower than his right one. If you flip your picture it becomes more noticeable (pic related). If you just raise that eye, along with its eyebrow, his face will look more symmetrical. Other than that, it's a good picture.

Any case I think your latest sketches are really good figures and I like that you did some big strapping men too. I understand where they are in space and also see the shapes you started with which is good, I need to decide on my own construction method too since I would like to do small comics.

Would you keep the faces that way, or would you make a different kind of face but it's just a placeholder while focusing on the body? Anyway good work

In regards to my work, I didn't do that much changing on the body from construction aside from adding extra length to the leg (see picrel). The main problem that I had with that pose in-particular was expressing the proper curve-in of the right shoulder and the slight bending-inwards of the abdominals.

Personally I think the right foot could've used some extra hatching/depth but I got lazy/tired/etc. And perhaps I overhatched the left leg as well-- looks slightly out of place against the pure, stark-white background. Might go back and redo it to look more like the right leg when I have the chance.

Pay attention to the direction of the knee in relation to the foot. Ideally the knee should follow the foot rotation. Similar to how the elbow follows the hand rotation.

You have a good grasp of anatomy, and I like how you depict faces and hair. Although your drawings show competence, if you scroll through the thread, you'll notice that there is a mismatch between your picture and the prevalent subjects and styles of the other works being posted. You are probably already aware of this, but shotas depicted in more realistic styles are difficult to make palatable to a general audience, so the lack of engagement is not really surprising.

A more comic-booky stylization may be helpful in making your drawings more "comfortable" for the average viewer, allowing you to reach a larger audience.

Speaking of comics, I suggest that you take a look at the work of Rolf Gohs, particularly "Mystiska 2:an", since I think that you could benefit from examining his style, particularly the way in which he depicted boys.

I've been simping hard for Tekken guys recently. Fighting game dudes in general help motivate me to draw better guys. But muscles are still so difficult for me.

That’s my mindset— even failure amounts to improvement so long as the effort’s there, and I definitely do see the difference compared to when I had zero fundies whatsoever.

I just really, really rushed some parts of the left figure’s shading (pretty obvious I abused the Gauss blur in all the wrong ways there) and couldn’t figure out how to properly express certain parts of the right figure’s musculature from that side-angle.

Probably sucked moreso since I’m perpetually sleep-deprived.
Even so I feel like trying to draw *something* is better than nothing at all.
