I just bought a manga book today, focused on facial expressions. Anime/manga's simplified design is perfect for such narrow study (so is old school Western animation, e.g. Disney).

Later, I may upgrade if need be to a more thorough book such as https://anatomy4sculptors.com/article/form-of-the-head-and-neck-book/, but the manga stuff is 80% of the work.

You definitely don't want to learn facial expression from academists...
