You've seen the difference between DALLE and DALLE-2, right? Those models were 8 months apart. I give human artists 2 more years tops before they're completely outmoded.

And besides, it doesn't need to be perfect, it just needs to be good enough that it's faster for a normie like me to fix it in photoshop than it would be to actually learn to draw it from scratch.

This further proves you have no clue what are you talking about. DALL-E 2 is a diffusion model DALL-E 1 is not.
Unless you change how the software works internally quality is going to stay pretty much the same.

And besides, it doesn't need to be perfect, it just needs to be good enough that it's faster for a normie like me to fix it in photoshop than it would be to actually learn to draw it from scratch.
Sure, people who haven't learned to draw traditionally nor digitally are definitely going to put in the effort now with yet another tool.

What about the massive difference between SD 1.3 and 1.4? That's just from 2 months of training. These models have a lot of room to get better still, it sounds like you're coping a little bit.

Also, there's no effort required, that's the point. I can make beautiful art in seconds with absolutely zero experience. I guess you must feel pretty silly having spent years learning to make art only to have some rando like me sorta blow you out of the water, but it'd probably be best for you to get over it and accept it already.

There are a few GAN papers about animating still images, but they haven't reallt progressed in years.

The difference is not that noticeable? The biggest change were the weights not the model.

Ah yes, gotta love coming home from sephora selling fragrances all day to prooompt some images that you had almost no say in from a product of the collective hard work of actual artists. A future where basically no one will be able to live off of doing what they love, where we're flooded with fast food images done cheaply, everyone is poor except a small handful of silicon valley elites that have sold the hard work of artists directly to the consumer, skipping the middle man.

That’s the beauty of it. It skirts the line of realism and abstract in such a way that your mind fills in the gaps and corrects flaws as you observe it. It’s so crisp and perfectly executed but with enough ambiguity that you as an observer are free to interpret it as you see fit. The figure standing on the bridge. Does it look like a man In ancient Japanese garb fishing? Or does it look like something else to you? The thing in the water. Is it a creature or is it a rock? Looking at it will reveal the processes of your own psyche to yourself like a Rorschach test. I personally find it interesting. And AI did this? We may see a new era of art that plebs call bullshit but patricians will appreciate in the way it’s supposed to be appreciated. Just like twenty years ago a splash of paint on some patio furniture was impactful and pregnant with meaning to those who got it, but normie retards were self gatekept by their inability to try and understand something beyond the surface level

Draw some figures from imagination. Then look up some figures from reference, pull out a ruler, and start taking some measurements, both horizontal and vertical. Try to make said measurements in terms of body parts (i.e. head or arm lengths/widths.) Compare those measurements to what you made. Adjust where needed.

>> No.6276442

to be more specific, you have to learn how to apply what you have learned, and not just draw after studying whatever without applying it. line confidence, shape confidence, and implying 3d forms through 2d shapes in 3d space are just a few. that last one is somewhat drawabox related, although i'd personally skip that method, as it's such an easy route to stop drawing altogether as it sucks the fun out of it almost entirely.

instead, take your favorite 3 artists, pick a piece that you aim your own art to look like, and do a study on it. you'll realize so much just through comparison, and it won't suck the fun out of drawing.

I like the vibe of this mecha/armor stuff but maybe try practicing the 2 separately? like the others said the human proportions are off but if this was pure mecha it would be fine. you clearly have an interest in robot type stuff so why not dedicate 1 sketch book to each or force yourself to do alternating pages 'humans' 'mecha' 'humans' then once you feel you have a good grasp separately combine them like you did here.
nice shading for depth, lacks detail in areas but the overall form is spot on. id be interested to see you do a full face and see how you abilities carry over on the other side of the face.

seems like you're in a weird spot where you can't decide how realistic you want each character to be, i'd work on matching the style of the body / anatomy with the face.

also a lot of it is looking like someone who learned a bunch of anatomy but doesn't know when to stop drawing the way you do when you're learning / practicing.

you could do both realistic and more stylised styles, but you need to understand exactly what makes it work cohesively for each character.

Post again I'll give you an honest power level rating.

>> No.6277938

>>6277919
a lot of these power level ratings are biased and subjective to what the particular anon that's doing the rating actually values or is focusing on learning themselves at that moment.

also don't weigh the entirety of your skill as an artist on one or a few drawings that you've done, sure it's a good indication, but far from reliable.

that said, you're probably either still mid-beg or an anon had a good day a few months ago and wanted to make a /beg/ feel good, there's no way of knowing, but after only a couple of months it's easily expected that your stuff in the beginner levels won't separately register as better or worse when whoever is rating doesn't have that last piece to measure it too. also this shit will take years, just trust the process, and progress isn't always linear, most artists backwards and forwards, but generally the overall trend will be going forward. a few months is no time at all.

>I give human artists 2 more years tops before they're completely outmoded.
Dude, what is this even mean? Art isn't chess. A computer can never be "objectively" better than humans at subjective tasks like art or music.
>But eventually, no one will be able to tell AI art from human art! What will you do then!?!!?
That just proves my point. If people cannot tell the difference between what a computer does versus what a human does, then the computer hasn't replaced the human yet, as humans will clearly still be competitive with the computer.
>But studios won't need artists anymore!! they'll just use AI!!!!!
And artists won't need studios anymore, because they can use AI to do tasks they'd otherwise need a studio to do.
If you think this is the end for artists, it isn't. It's a new beginning.

He looks really cool. Love the detail, especially on the hat. It makes me wonder if you have deeper narrative significance behind the patterns on the hat, like if it's meant to reference some in-universe religion this character follows or something, or if you just thought it was cool looking. Either way I like it.
>>6280961
I like the mood here. Maybe I'd advise against not making the background so bright, or maybe moving that brightest spot closer to her face? Idk, I feel like the background distracts from the character in the foreground. Just a thought idk, still a cool pic.

I have over 200,000 youtube subscribers and have had sex with an asian woman and about 50 white women (those don’t count and might as well have been trannies).

Idk. People used to say they had childhood memories of my videos around the world, specifically us and uk. I have friends who said they met people who talked about how they liked my videos growing up. But it’s depressing because it is all past tense and I have nothing else really. Abstract isn't really a good word to describe impressionism. It was more holistic than abstract. Yes, the details were obscured by the raw brush strokes, but the picture was always unambiguous when interpreted as a whole, there are no guessing games, it should be clear what is what when you take the context in mind. Later artists entirely missed that, and made just messy art.

>> No.6286215

>>6286205

Nta so I don't know what they were thinking. Shading is a visual representation of light (not) hitting the forms you show. The Loomis method is a shortcut for illustrating scenes, the books themselves assume you can copy well, and you'll get better at using it if you can do observational drawing first. Bargues, cast drawing, and life drawing are the best exercises to teach you to translate masses you observe to a 2d surface.

That was someone else asking why it was rated low beg. I think the person who said low beg was just salty or something like that. I'm not saying I'm very advanced, just not low beg.

basically, just work on your fundies. anatomy, form, values, clothing studies, etc. pick any one of those and there's a good amount that could be improved regarding it.

for that image, i'd say the biggest problem (and quick fix once you get the hang of it) that stands out to me is the values, there needs to be more darks / shadows around the character (not just the boots). your darkest parts are consistently a mid orange colour that really shouldn't be far from what the value of the regular shadows could be. way too light for occlusion shadows that you're using if for. the way your character looks, is as if the entire body and clothing has a level of light emission, makes it clear you don't understand lighting all that much.

i'd recommend doing some figure painting studies, trying to get exactly what you see in the reference image. start out with black and white to start out with, i'd even say use the colour picker for the first couple of goes too, it'll give you a solid feel of the range of value you should be going for. some youtube tutorials that walk you through painting the face / figure will give you a good understanding too, i'd recommend looking at oil painters and how they do portraits / figures. also desu also i'd recommend practicing painting a few inanimate objects before doing figure painting.

you've definitely got a bit of experience, so i really don't think it will take you too long to learn the right concepts in terms of value painting, you should get a good easy boost in your level if you do this right.

why don't any of you elaborate on your ratings, it would help anons here actually take your ratings more seriously

not gonna write details for every anon, chances are they won't check back into the thread and it'll be wasted time.

then why even bother in the first place. it doesn't help that you just say "beg", "low int", "beg", "beg" to a bunch of anons without any elaboration. It leaves them guessing and just feeling like they're doing something wrong. make a fucking effort or don't bother

yeah and I don't agree with it. it surely doesn't help just to get a rating and i don't know why you wouldn't feel compelled when assessing a piece not to actually give some feedback

well, they ARE doing something wrong, so mission accomplished. And the general, well known rule that never fails is to read the sticky, and that will tell you to focus on your fundamentals. that's it, that's the answer for everything. but should an anon want extra help, ask instead of acting like a child.

Because the shadows aren't dark enough?
