Heavier shadowing under the bangs, neck and shoulders might help make the hair feel more connected to the body?

The hat seems to be just sitting on top of a head too. To expose that much forehead shouldn't the front brim be pointing upwards more with the top angled away from the viewer/obscured by the brim? Alternatively the hat angle stays the same but it then sits deeper on the head and the brim partially obscures the bangs?

are these overcomplicated/obnoxious/ugly character designs? i wanted a cartoony goth and hippie look.

reference images i find tend to be either too large like beaches or entire oceans, or too small like cups of water which lacks any real water depth.

That’s subjective to a degree but I know I’m not a fan of the generic “toony” art style that usually involves eyes taking up most of the face and a big overbite connected to a pointy nose. The kind of thing you’d see as the avi of a -100 subscriber youtube channel that reviews cartoons. It’s still a style though and one that has its fans so if that’s what you’re going for I think the designs themselves are alright. Poses are a little stiff and the hippie might have one too many freckles. Other than that I don’t think they need to be simplified or anything.

Why do you post if you don't want critiques?
The spray of blood follows the path of the sword. The blood would pool beneath him and while he is the source the source of the sprayed blood comes from the sword.
As is it looks like it's the loser sword the blood comes from or that he died and then ran his blood in a large ark as he falls to his knees which would be silly.

it's not the blood it's the hand, since the blood is going in a clockwise motion your eye leads to the missing hand, but arc implies that would've been the hand that would've made such a wound not the holding the towel. either he has a phatom limb, there should be a hand laying about, or the arc should be countercounter clockwise to match the hand that wielded the sword.

this is pure autism of course but still interesting to dissect.

The back of the thigh inverts too harshly into the knee, making the leg look like it is facing the POV which looks weird.

The shoulders are too small and the arm is blocked too much by the torso so it looks like you have tiny arms.

Shoulder blades are too large and defined. smaller lines that implicit rather than explicit would be better.

That's a start. Otherwise, compare it to similar works you like and study.

I have some doubts with the character on the left. Especially with the shadows of the ribcage/abdomen and the position of the left shoulder. I think if the left arm is erased, it would be recognizable that she is leaning in the bench with that arm. (also, i think that arm doesn't connect with the rest of the body or is just my schizofrenia)

Btw, the light is supposed to be coming from above but behind is a giant rock that would block some of the light, so I have my doubts.

In the attempt to show both her boobs and ass simultaneously, you have depicted the torso of your character at such an extreme angle in relation to her pelvis that her lower back is pretty much broken.

However, I think tha you could still salvage the drawing while keeping the lower and upper parts of the body mostly the same: you should push the entirety of the body below her boobs further to the right, until the visible outline of the girl's abdomen sorta lines up with the center string of her bikini bra.

That won't immediately solve all of the issues, but at least the most glaring one, her broken back, will have been fixed, and then you could focus on tweaking the rest of the drawing.

You had made noticeable improvements to the posture in your left version; the one on the right, frankly, seems quite lacking in comparison (except the face, which looks nice).

Therefore, I suggest that you continue tweaking the drawing on the left, but that you take some rest beforehand, in order to gather enough energy and motivation.

My advice is that you try to sketch the outline of the costal margin of her ribcage, the one that forms a sort of W over the abdomen (pic related). To simplify, try to think of the shape of the ribcage as a sort of boiled egg, with a somewhat triangular slice taken off the bottom. If you sketch the costal margin, that will help you get a better grasp of the shape and volume of the ribcage, which in turn will allow you to position the breasts and abdomen in a more accurate way.

Lastly, you should lower her right breast, since, even when taking perspective into account, it seems to be placed at a higher position on her torso than her left one.

I think this could really benefit from changes in line weight, and a bit more variation in the shadow - highlight tones.

I'd probably suggest trying to get some of those purples into the shadows, and maybe pushing some orange/ white yellow into the highlights.
