Why You Should Copy Anime:
https://i.imgur.com/zNDsyF0.jpg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbKqIJcIUCw

**Strive for quantity AND quality.**

Anime Studying:
>Copy anime references exactly and draw them from memory. Use illustrations, screenshots, anime figures, 3D models, etc.
>Don’t copy recklessly. Use construction, color theory, and other fundamental concepts to rehearse a drawing process that you can later easily manipulate for original artwork.
>Post all of your anime studies. Post even when you’re told not to. Create an art community that actually draws and improves together instead of just talking about it.
>Number your attempts and link to your previous posts.
>Critiquers should lead by example by posting their studies.

General Anime Style Discussion:
>Questions about achieving certain styles/techniques/compositions etc.
>Drawing methods, study habits, resources, tutorials, tools, software, etc
>Be specific and try to post a sample of your study attempts before asking for help.

**Draw copies from good anime styled references to mindfully up our mileage, internalize appealing aesthetics, and learn from each other’s processes and knowledge.**

Not him but it's not like he's using a method in particular. You can learn to break down the body with 3D shapes on your own without external resources, or you can pick up some book you find in the OP, or any of the teachers /ic/ recommends like Hampton or Huston etc...
What matters most is putting in the work and thinking about what you're doing.

find skeleton pics of both genders (front view, side view, 3/4th, different poses), draw them everyday at 70% effort while checking proportions after every second stroke
if you do this for a week, you will internalize proportions and landmarks so well that your brain will naturally be able to connect all segments together seamlessly

The idea is simple. You want to improve on a particular subject -> You need to build up your visial library as fast as possible -> The fastest way to do that is to do mindful studies of other's people's works -> Mindful studies means you extract more information with less effort -> You do that by identifying big shapes and Accurately recreating them using limited amount of CSI-lines. Also be aware of forms and volumes. That's all folks.

Krenz just tells you how you can practice more efficiently. The sooner you begin, the better. The core idea is simple: Strive for maximum accuracy. Study from others artworks. Find big shapes, mororize them, recreate them. Compare with the original, get feedback -> fix mistakes. Now find smaller shapes and repeat process for them.
Also be aware of 3D-space.

If you want to understand how to draw a character from high/low angels you must practice drawing 3D model from those extreme angles. This is how you get the "feeling" of perspective and foreshortening effect. And you must do it as accurately as possible otherwise it's all in vain.

Your study above just lacks accuracy. Not a big deal but you should eliminate this weakness.

I grew up reading and watching Naruto, so Kishimotos highly traditional style of art became my ideal style. But I've come to terms with being a primarily digital artist, and wasted too much time trying to make digital pens and strokes look traditional, when they just aren't made that way, or at least the technology isn't there yet. My counterproductive stubbornness to achieve the physical appeal through digital has caused me to waste a lot of time but I now understand that there *is* merit in digital work, and I just need to learn to how to achieve it.

I think a lot of artists who do not draw the kind of typical stuff you see in the Pixiv ranking probably feel more at ease, more seen and closer to their fanbase over Twitter. For example artists who have a more melancholic or darker feel to their art.
Don't get me wrong, I don't like Twitter, but I understand why someone would a given artist would want to use it as their main place over Pixiv is all I'm conveying. Plus a lot of them are probably enjoying the attention they get from non-asian people. As much as Pixiv tried to modernize over the years, it's still not an appealing website for casual foreigners.

sure i really like some of the video game pictures and it has nice colors. but do we really need more of character with pose or weapon not saying anything.

theres toncs of things that yuou need to consider if you want to be accurate as possible, your drawing is already good enough to not be called shit or super beg, is beg btw, but remember to put more effort on the seelling point, in this case is the tits.
Heres some tips, remember that tits are soft and not ballons, you need some low-mid INT level of 3D understanding,in your pic you are not taking into account , the table making the lower part of the boobs completely circular, the arm should be pushing the left tit which would push the other tit but it would be restrained by her bra, but because of this force it would cause skin dentation how strong depends on the size of her boobs and the pression and space, in this case her arm is almost working as a wall and the table is also pushing a bit and raising the arms adds too, so as you can see theres lots of things to take into consideration.
I would say this is well enough, but realize that it can be better, it's not bad just ... okay.

the major problem for me is the waist area, idk if you used a 3dpd or anime ref but this muscle(orange on thispic) it's being squished too hard for a standing position, and the way you shaded that area it looks like her upper body is connected by cylinders to her pelvis, then theres the face, is way too wide, look at that fucking jaw, the angle is from below so the lower/underneath part of her chin should be vissible, forearm in the left is a bit too large, i think the tits are way to high.
After this its mostly a stlystic choice i think but her butt just look like 2 ballons, the way you shaded again makes the the area look flat, that diamond shape in top of her ass crack is missing it almost look like her buttchecks are connected at the top.Post ref

That just happens to be my exact interest.
Yoshinari is great, but you probably already know about him if you're asking this.
I'd recommend looking into stuff from the 60's to early 80's, specially manga. The western cartooning influence was a lot more visible back then and it's a really nice look, specially the gesture and shape design. Some of it can be a bit amateurish but it has a lot of charm, and knowing the history better helps with analysis, I think.
Aki Irie is a more recent artist whose work reminds me of that era, mostly her calligraphic linework, but it's a bit of a stretch and I have a hard time naming current examples other than her and the usual handful of Trigger staff. I'd be interested in knowing others, too.
Attached pic is Yoshinari's fanart of an Unico character. A lot of Tezuka's comics are on Nyaa.

i mean, i can't tell for sure and may be still wrong, these are just assumptions but maybe it just comes with time? at some point you just see artists change their lineart color so you know it's a thing that some people do, and you watch artists subtly apply dynamically colored airbrushes over their base colors to make them pop more, and since in the image the eye + eyelid is still mostly black i just assume they didnt start out with that brownish lineart but just made it like that to make the other colors fit more. its just (more or less) educated guesswork...

draw gesture drawings or more detailed studies of real people. if you only wanna draw anime, maybe studying your favourite artists is also ok? since anime style simplifies anatomy so much - so it may be easier.
for your pic, try to make the legs less "pillow"- like. if one leg is in the front (the right one, i assume), put the other one in more shadow, since less light falls on it.
the crossed arms feel kind of unnatural. try crossing your arms. do you really place your hand like that? or is one hand resting on the side of the upper arm?

I'm not trying to talk shit, they look fantastic, I just genuinely don't understand how I'm supposed to analyze professional artists' drawing when they seem to have moved on from construction and just rely on their art sense and their own ironed out style acquired through tens of thousands of hours of drawing. Since you're doing this digitally, maybe dropping some plumb lines on the original with a separate layer (instead of imagining them) would help with keeping track.
Be patient and pay attention. There's no need to rush. The more careful you are the less likely you'll goof on accident, and you'll analyze and learn better, too.

Comparative measuring is measuring that relies on parts of the image in relation to each other. It's also called proportional measurement. It's the type Iten and Krenz teach.

I get it completely. I wrote that last part because I noticed that's what trips me up the most, too.
It's difficult not rushing and drawing mindlessly, specially when you're not used to copying. I've only recently started doing it myself, and it's uncomfortable switching from drawing volumetrically to mainly concerning yourself with the 2D proportions and relationships between parts of the image.
My accuracy still isn't very good either, but this stuff is all patience and mileage. Try watching Iten's videos or Eviston's Art and Science of Drawing if you want a good introduction to measuring. WAGMI fren.

>Firstly, what does he mean by CSI lines?
Main idea here is to learn to simplify complex shapes. When you draw complex shape or contour you should simpllify it to something constructed only with 5-6 CSI-lines/strokes. Why doing that? This method allows you quickly analyze, memorize and then recall whatever you're studying.
> connecting the dots, seems strange to me.
Drawing enclosing contour around your reference (actually or in your mind) is just a method to increase accuracy. If you accurately copy enclosing shape of a figure for example you'll be able to use this contour as a point for reference for big shapes in your ref. And if you can correctly copy big shapes you will be able to do the same for medium shapes etc.

Depends what you pick really. The kind of anime you showed generally has low budget and is meant to just look cute, so I would indeed advise against studying this outside of frames that showcase girls in a more refined way.

There are plenty of anime however which have girls drawn with better shape and better definition. Like if you pick the Monogatari series for example you could find yourself with hundreds and hundreds of shots worth studying.

But I don't like oldschool and monogatari styles. Is there not old hi-quality animes about cute girls (or studio that can draw it really accurate)? K-on has too strange style, don't like it really. And high budget 3D-based animes usually hasn't beach episodes (like Angel Beats). (Sorry but I like what I like and can't "just dislike this shit and like Right Things").

It's fine to like what you like.

Of course, just go over MAL or something and look search through seasons and you're bound to find stuff. I don't think you can realistically expect someone to do the work for you ultimately though, you'll have to watch and find what you're looking for. It's part of the artistic process.

Can you name a good studios if you know? I don't trust KyoAni anymore. Also I found a several cute beach pics on Boorus but can't estimate it's anatomical quality, I suspects it's poor.

Chibi from ref, without construction. I shifted her head and fucked up pelvis rotation. But still cute, really like this 4-head style. Should I buy some cheap nendoroids for practicing simplified figures?

There is no cheating in art. The only thing that matters are the end result.
