You're aware that this is a feature that's actively being worked on and will be available in at most a couple months? Select part of an image, specify what you want to change ("character facing the camera straight-on"), and generate.

Do you understand how computers work? It does not matter if you can rotate his head in like two months, there will always be a limit, sweet pie.
Unless Ai starts working over fully articulated 3D models with the capability of emulating lens distortion and optical illusions, you will never possess the skill set of a real artist.

How long will it take for AI to reach that level? Months? Years? Decades?
And even if AI could do all of that, can it "stick" to a certain style and output pics in that same style?
AI at the moment is just a toy. It's not even good as a sketch tool because it gives you a fully fleshed picture, it's literally just a toy for people to play with and generate things they imagine. This whole drama about replacing artists is sheer ignorance, it's like saying google translate will replace real-life translators.

Did you mention that you were using AI? I wonder if that's just how many jobs are available right now, or if that AI piece was impressive, or if that was scam?

>> No.6255123

I've come back to /ic/ after a few years and it's wild how pervasive and incredibly boring these AI threads are. It would be nice if there was an AI board to move it away from here, it was contained to a single general or just outright banned.

I understand the argument of it being called 'art' however the other half of this board is critique, you can't really critique an AI generated image. they would be waiting for the developers to improve the AI.

>> No.6255125

>>6255123
correct, mods are useless. even if the AI apocalypse weren't currently underway, you would be able to tell by the fact that this board is flooded with generals

The light areas look overexposed, form doesn't look properly rendered. The fill light in the shadows is far too saturated for Caravaggio.

Agreed, even though AI should be discussed on here, it's gotten ridiculous. Most of the threads and posts are just bait anyway.

Didn't mention it, it was for remote work on a small Disney game and they just wanted proof of experience and examples of creating characters. I guess with a more advanced version of the AI I could have totally fooled them. Personally I'm not interested at all to get a job in art, it was just an experiment but you can be sure that beggars will flood the market eventually.

>they just wanted proof of experience and examples of creating characters.
This isn't something that can really be faked by AI, the experience obviously, but also designing a character - there's a lot more to it then simply have a fully formed character just appear as well as industry standards for showing such things.

>you can be sure that beggars will flood the market eventually.
this is really gonna fuck with recruiters, so that is at least one good thing.

Where’s my self driving car?
Why do companies still hire human translators?
AI hasn’t put a single industry totally out of work yet, it’s always “give us 5 more years”. Why are you so sure that art is going to be the first industry that totally falls? And in a few months, no less?
