Not quite sure how to feel about this.
On the one hand, all the outputs look high-/beg/ at best so I don’t think this is going to make drawing obsolete any time soon.
On the other hand, I think it’s *good enough* that a lot of non-artists will roll with it and start flooding the internet with low-effort comics with this kind of art, further devaluing the work of real artists.
AI comics will be the new sprite comics.

This doesn't really work. Can't generate anyone who isn't found in the dataset. Even img2img just gives you someone else in roughly similar pose.
And only a handful of celebrities work really well. That's why everyone's spamming Emma Watson and Daisy Ridley.

Friendly reminder that you are not an artist.
You don't create.
You don't do anything.
You are commissioning an AI to do the creating for you. And if you don't like a picture, you commission the AI again with slightly different words, or maybe even an image to help out.
Just like with any artist that gets commissioned, art for you will always be a black box. You will always get a somewhat random image that you will not be able to plan in detail ahead of time.
"I know what I want when I see it" is the most retarded basic bitch take on drawing/art/painting ever.

This is my first attempt at a more elaborate AI artwork. Took me some 4 hours of generating iterations, feeding them back to img2img, and stitching them together in PS (promptbashing?) some manual retouching here and there though I tried to keep manual painting to minimum as I wanted to test the limits of AI.
I feel this is a kind of chaotic and random way of making art. Even with masking, it's hard to control what comes of the algorithm so you kinda just have to embrace the randomness and "surf" the ideas that come out of the process. I guess that's why people say it's good for concept art and ideation.
I think the result ended up being more interesting than if I had gone with my rather boring initial idea. (just a naked girl standing on the moon)
Yes I know there are still some "melty construction" problems and cases of weird AI anatomy but I don't care enough to fix them.

img2img isn't good enough. You want the same scene but rotated exactly 30 degrees in a specific direction with NO other changes? AI craps itself immediately. You just can't tell it to do really specific things like that. Best you can do is mask some area and tell it to iterate that part 100 times and hope for the best.
Granted 2D was never the most efficient for that sort of thing either as long as 3D existed.
There's some dude on reddit making a blender plugin that uses SD as a renderer but it's not out yet and I would need to play around with it myself to judge if it meets my needs or not.

That's the biggest problem with Stable Diffusion right now
People expect a magic machine that you put words into and it spits out fantastic images, but instead it's more like you put in words , it gives you garbage, and then you have to edit your prompt and keep generating images until you find the parameters that have a 1/10 chance of giving you what you want.
It removes a lot of the magic from the process. DALL-E is a lot better at that sort of thing

Install stable diffusion locally. Way too many AI generated images are unusable random garbage, that's a problem you can only solve by brute forcing and generating large batches of images until you find something decent. Offline with a decent GPU you can generate several images per minute.

Oh boy, AI prompts, huh? I'm currently using Midjourney and just trying to have fun with it. I see AI not as an end in itself, but as a springboard for ideas. I got a couple I could post.

"A caveman with a very large head and hands and a scrawny body, --ar 2:1"

--ar is aspect ratio, probably the most helpful term when creating prompts

Creative business companies companies like Blizzard/Disney will have a schism probably, where you have oldfag art directors who got where they are through either being established artists already/experience/nepotism, whose only job is to manage armies of minimum wage "photobashers" (prompters). This is going to be the new concept art (what's funny is that they'll probably require largely meaning but expensive-to-get certification/degrees from the prompters as the main form of gatekeeping, you see this in the IT field a lot). Somewhat shielded from this will be those in the production pipeline that produce what consumers eventually actually see (the 3d models/renders/animations/etc), but those jobs will become increasingly automated.

Gerating something you need to fix is honestly pointless when you could have done it right from the start.
If (and it's a pretty big one) and when gets better you aren't getting prompt engineers as a job, you're getting more underpaid third worlders paid to fix the numerous fuck ups.
And this will be done by companies that want to cut costs everywhere and you'll also get companies that flex their "no AI" art (like Bones is doing with Mob Psycho season 3, by claiming they aren't using any CGI).

You have no taste. Thousands of hours of painting have allowed artists to sniff out your ai-faggotry with incredible efficiency. Even painting over ai generations looks uncanny and unnatural to a man. You know only surnames of artists from the first page of google. And even if you manage to take a part in discussion about art it ends up with furries, mediocre landscapes and conveyor portraits that look exactly the same.

You will never sell a picture of what you've done, you stole everything and nothing is yours, you are just a jew-third person, who's opinion doesn't matter. The most seething posts are always raging about "learning theory, anatomy etc for thousands of hours" or something like that. Well did the surrealists, symbolists, impressionists spend their time doing that? Some of them did, sure, but most of them were against that sort of academism and wanted to be free from basically every constraints put to art previously.

Mastery of anatomy, perspective, light, etc., is always also about interpretation, about making choices. You can't draw lively human expressions by simply obsessing about correct human anatomy, but neither can you do it by disregarding technical skill. The ability to experiment in a controlled fashion, rather than wildly flailing about, is something that comes with mastery.
You crossboarders like to boast how AI will soon be able to emulate all existing art styles perfectly, while at the same time acting like art is just soulless craftsmanship and nothing of value will be lost if no one draws anymore.

Then after adopting them I come up with more related knockoff ideas of my own. Granted, you could use google images or youtube in the same way.
