Especially people drawing for attention who go out of their own moral comfort zone, like a whore looking at her past porn tapes.

The cringy way she's speaking could cause embarrassment in the future if the author has evolved past being a memelord, but ONLY if he was doing it to fit in.
If it was done unapologetically and he really thought it was a cute idea, then sure, why not treasure your memories?

I have recently deleted a few Reddit posts I made back in 2018, when I was trying to make money with my art.
I don't even use Reddit, so that kept weighing on my consciousness; me, Anon Smith, posting among a bunch of tumblrnoses and pet-caricature "people", trying to catch a fatty whose husband's birthday is coming up soon to draw him his D&D Paladin drinking tapioca tea with her bodacious Tiefling.

It wasn't art per se, but same amount of artistic shame. I'll draw furry diaper rape before I go back to that shithole.

This is what I realized later, anon, but when all doors seem closed to you, you resort to a lot of lowly behavior. Once I found a source of income, all of that dissipated.

These days I can proudly say I'd rather become a janitor than an "artist" working for stuff like marketing or coom.

That reads like a biased take shared for the purpose to put others down.
People can change throughout the years. Not everyone who deletes past work means they drew it disingenuously, but maybe after a while, they got influenced by other things and thought the past work does not represent them anymore. Perhaps you don't support the thing you once loved and drew fanart of, or your taste in something has shifted and you don't want to see it depicted like that any longer. A change of artstyle can also make someone want to erase older illustrations to keep a gallery consistent.
Who you were in the past doesn't always reflect your current self, and that goes for art as well. I wouldn't always call it maturing, but change is often inevitable as you grow. You can keep the memories and the artwork in your personal folder, having it up online has nothing to do with it.

I drew one pervy animu fanart when I was a teen, a piece that still gets likes to this day. Honestly debating on deleting it. I’m glad that people like it or whatever, but it’s just so diametrically opposed to what I try and want to draw now lol

I keep my old garbage art up to mostly motivate myself, but that one just stands out.
