Maybe there were situations where your eyebrows looked off. See pic related for example.
Her right eyebrow is positioned more to the right than her right eye (or, more forward). This is because of the form of the head, and it's fine. If it was positioned directly above (as it would if the face was on neutral angle) it would not look good.
Maybe you are right, and the original picture ignoring the curvature is not ideal, but it definitely looks better than this >>6245127, so if you are gonna go with it consider redrawing it or something.

Some korean wisdom I recently watched was the head size is deliberately changed to be bigger or smaller depending on if it is portrait or full body. Medical textbooks, anatomy diagrams, and other references exist, many of which are created by other manga artists. Most artists I've seen use 3DCG, actually.

Not the anon you're replying to, but it's significantly more nuanced than that. They said the same thing about Photoshop in the early 2000s.

So long as there's a way to differentiate between an AI-generated image and a real photograph (and there always will be), we're still in the clear. It's just a matter of explaining those caveats and nuances to a concerned policymaker where the challenge lies.

I think it'll be fine. So long as it doesn't reach a point where it's not possible to differentiate between a photograph of a real child or an artificial image produced using a real child's likeness, then I think we're good. A drawing is an original fictive creation filtered through your own unconscious. The result cannot be attached to a real being because it's the product of one person's mind, to how this person experiences and interprets reality.

Actual abuse material is illegal, though. It wouldn't be worth anyone's time to actually integrate such abuse material into the dataset, nor would it be worth their time to create realistic depictions of identifiable minors since both of those acts carry with it the risk of prosecution.

As I said before, AI can be identified very easily just by studying the image.

Ultimately, whether or not a legal and non-abusive image of a real child was used in the dataset isn't of much legal concern if the output is so distinct from the source material. Keep in mind that within the LAION-5B dataset also lies a shitload of legal 3DCG images, moreso than legal images of children.

It's about whether a real child was sexually exploited for the image to exist. Whether or not such AI-generated images could exist without that fact is where a strong argument lies, because a depiction of a fictional character where no real child was involved is as much a depiction of a child as a petite/youthful adult actor who had their appearance modified to appear childlike playing the role of a child character is.

Stable Diffusion still requires some effort to get running, it requires a large enough storage device to store the dataset or a stable enough internet connection to pull them from the server, as well as a way to integrate and index all the text prompts necessary to create a viable output product (whatever that means).

Right. And if Uncle Joe were to do this, or splice said faces onto the bodies of petite adults or CG modles via GIMP or Paint.net, it wouldn't be any different. AI is a tool, no different than any other software package. Just because Uncle Joe can do that doesn't mean that the whole prospect of simulated child pornography should be restricted when there is no valid reason to do so.

Keep in mind that various other works of art would be caught under this umbrella if a blanket ban. This is literally the Ashcroft case all over again after Congress was afraid of CP defendants playing the "it's not a real child and you can't prove that it is or isn't" defense, which spoiler alert: they very well can.

Why? Well, the market for CP is a very precoscious one, one that thrives on one thing: child sex abuse imagery. If that market can be impeded by producing legal, non-abusive materials that do not invovle real children, then over time, the demand for CSAM will go down. And statistics appear to support that.

I always start focusing on the gesture and then, once I'm satisfied with it, I resize and rearrange whatever is needed.
If I worry about anatomy or proportions early on I usually end up with a very stiff drawing.
Also I never get anything good first try, I always have to change something or straight up start over again. So if you have an idea for something to draw, consider doing at least a couple of sketches before settling down with one.

I’ve started doing something like this recently too and it’s made my realism sketches a lot less awkward looking. I’ve been starting by blocking in the basic figure and establishing any prominent lines to use as guides for the minor ones. I used to try using the facial proportions grid and things would just come out inhuman and wonky (though I still use the principle once the gesture is blocked in). This way seems to work a lot better.
