Maybe there were situations where your eyebrows looked off. See pic related for example.
Her right eyebrow is positioned more to the right than her right eye (or, more forward). This is because of the form of the head, and it's fine. If it was positioned directly above (as it would if the face was on neutral angle) it would not look good.
Maybe you are right, and the original picture ignoring the curvature is not ideal, but it definitely looks better than this >>6245127, so if you are gonna go with it consider redrawing it or something.

You absolutely can draw them without having studied images of actual children and only adults.

Medical textbooks, anatomy diagrams, and other references exist, many of which are created by other manga artists. Most artists I've seen use 3DCG, actually.

I'm unsure how to feel about the concept as a whole, since it's not really an 'art' at that point anymore.

Also the prospect of photorealism could be problematic, since people could argue that the inability to differentiate between an AI image and a photograph of a real child could make enforcement problematic.

People need to tell at a glance if it's a real child if they're going to tolerate shit like this.

Not the anon you're replying to, but it's significantly more nuanced than that. They said the same thing about Photoshop in the early 2000s.

So long as there's a way to differentiate between an AI-generated image and a real photograph (and there always will be), we're still in the clear. It's just a matter of explaining those caveats and nuances to a concerned policymaker where the challenge lies.

Lord can't imagine how the NCMEC must feel about this, though.

>> No.6251212

>>6251204
I'm not sure about that. The pictures in the middle look a lot like filtered pictures to me. And I recognize the faces of a few people on those pictures, at least they are familiar and I wouldn't put below the people who did that to use name of famous models on this thing since probably was never really made to go around that much, that's why I'm saying that the anon should be careful while posting these, because one thing is drawing a random loli and other is drawing an actual physical individual that is a minor. This gets worse because context, the same way if I posted a picture of girl on a bikini here could lead me in to trouble even on my really lianent country despite none of those pictures being really pornographic in my opinion, being posted on place like this could be made to believe we are sexualizing minors and that is the issue.

Is not really a problem but it can become a problem if someone put his mind in to it. Just hope anon has enough protection since he would be the one to take most of the blunt. This picture on any woke article from any journo parasite could lead in a insane shitstorm.

>> No.6251223

Gotta agree there. The two golden rules of loli artists to stay out of trouble are
-don't use little girls as models
-don't draw real girls
In the case of AI it obviously means "don't feed the algorithm little girls pictures" and I'm pretty sure that's the case here

The question at this point isn't even "if" there will be a shitstorm, but "when"
And it can come from any side, woke or conservative

>> No.6251243

>>6251222
It wouldn't happen, the tech is already out there and would just be a shitstorm for nothing. Best you could get is maybe the CEO of one of those companies saying what big baddies we are and the tech was not made for this or he getting in to trouble for basically facilitating actual child porn and actual sexual exploitation of real children. Let we, the lolicons be the first one to even realize that.
>>6251223
I've been thinking about this for a while, not even loli but for a lot of things. This tech is shady as fuck and I can think in 1000 things that can go wrong with it not even art related. Porn of famous people, use of the image of individuals without their permission, scams and all sort of things. Art is kinda a small scale compared with what this can do. This is just a taste in my opinion but is already out there, nothing we can do to stop it now.

That's a very optimistic opinion of yours. Don't expect legislators to be competent enough to grok the details of the difference between a human made illustration using photoshop and an AI generated illustration when they're literally too stupid to understand that iPhones aren't made by Google.

I think it'll be fine. So long as it doesn't reach a point where it's not possible to differentiate between a photograph of a real child or an artificial image produced using a real child's likeness, then I think we're good. Taken from Ashcroft v. Free Speech Coalition (2002). It seems like they anticipated this leap in the technological capabilities, and still sided with free speech since, again, no real abuse occurred and no real minors were implicated in the production process.
>The Government next argues that its objective of eliminating the market for pornography produced using real children necessitates a prohibition on virtual images as well.
>Virtual images, the Government contends, are indistinguishable from real ones; they are part of the same market and are often exchanged. In this way, it is said, virtual images promote the trafficking in works produced through the exploitation of real children.
>The hypothesis is somewhat implausible.
>If virtual images were identical to illegal child pornography, the illegal images would be driven from the market by the indistinguishable substitutes. Few pornographers would risk prosecution by abusing real children if fictional, computerized images would suffice.
It will come down to whether or not actual abuse material is part of the dataset, a fact which would need to be proven by examining/dissecting it, in addition to whether or not the actual likenesses of children are depicted/used. I don't see it happening, since AI art is already distinguishable from real photographs (even the most prominent examples, see pic related).

>> No.6253222

>>6253214
But you said it yourself: it will depend if abusive material is part of the dataset.
Which means a LOT of scrutiny will be put under those pictures, because some people WILL definetely use illegal material for the dataset and/or use it to produce very realistic pictures of child celebrities. It only takes one politician making a "think of the children" argument to turn it into a no-win situation

Actual abuse material is illegal, though. It wouldn't be worth anyone's time to actually integrate such abuse material into the dataset, nor would it be worth their time to create realistic depictions of identifiable minors since both of those acts carry with it the risk of prosecution.

As I said before, AI can be identified very easily just by studying the image.

Ultimately, whether or not a legal and non-abusive image of a real child was used in the dataset isn't of much legal concern if the output is so distinct from the source material. Keep in mind that within the LAION-5B dataset also lies a shitload of legal 3DCG images, moreso than legal images of children.

It's about whether a real child was sexually exploited for the image to exist. Whether or not such AI-generated images could exist without that fact is where a strong argument lies, because a depiction of a fictional character where no real child was involved is as much a depiction of a child as a petite/youthful adult actor who had their appearance modified to appear childlike playing the role of a child character is.

But we're talking about a technology that will make it possible for tens of millions of people to generate those images, without real efforts.

You can't compare artists, we put time in their craft (so they have a LOT of time to think about it) with the millions of Uncle Joe who think they would love to see porn of their cute nieces and decide to generate those images after a couple beers.

Stable Diffusion still requires some effort to get running, it requires a large enough storage device to store the dataset or a stable enough internet connection to pull them from the server, as well as a way to integrate and index all the text prompts necessary to create a viable output product (whatever that means).

>You can't compare artists, we put time in their craft (so they have a LOT of time to think about it) with the millions of Uncle Joe who think they would love to see porn of their cute nieces and decide to generate those images after a couple beers.
Right. And if Uncle Joe were to do this, or splice said faces onto the bodies of petite adults or CG modles via GIMP or Paint.net, it wouldn't be any different. AI is a tool, no different than any other software package. Just because Uncle Joe can do that doesn't mean that the whole prospect of simulated child pornography should be restricted when there is no valid reason to do so.

Keep in mind that various other works of art would be caught under this umbrella if a blanket ban. This is literally the Ashcroft case all over again after Congress was afraid of CP defendants playing the "it's not a real child and you can't prove that it is or isn't" defense, which spoiler alert: they very well can.

Why? Well, the market for CP is a very precoscious one, one that thrives on one thing: child sex abuse imagery. If that market can be impeded by producing legal, non-abusive materials that do not invovle real children, then over time, the demand for CSAM will go down. And statistics appear to support that.

Stable Diffusion requires efforts to operate *today*, but every new step makes it easier to use. It will be mainstream soon enough.

And no, you can't compare it with photoshopping a picture because photoshopping still requires more skill. A drunken Uncle Joe can't make a realistic picture that way. But with an AI, he can. And he will.

Also, and there I'm going to be very controversial, but: if you can produce *legal photorealistic images* with AI, it will be prime material for grooming real kids and normalising sex to them. If it is legal, it will be easy to produce and more mainstream, and more kids will be exposed to them.

I don't think I'm at the level to be giving this kind of advice, but if you wanna know about my process look at picrel
I always start focusing on the gesture and then, once I'm satisfied with it, I resize and rearrange whatever is needed.
If I worry about anatomy or proportions early on I usually end up with a very stiff drawing.
Also I never get anything good first try, I always have to change something or straight up start over again. So if you have an idea for something to draw, consider doing at least a couple of sketches before settling down with one.

Not lines, no.
I used to start with a main gesture line (is that what it's called?)
Now I usually start with a pillow thing similar to this. Most of the time I start with the torso, then move to the legs, then head and arms.
Sometimes I start with the legs.

>I always start focusing on the gesture
I’ve started doing something like this recently too and it’s made my realism sketches a lot less awkward looking. I’ve been starting by blocking in the basic figure and establishing any prominent lines to use as guides for the minor ones. I used to try using the facial proportions grid and things would just come out inhuman and wonky (though I still use the principle once the gesture is blocked in). This way seems to work a lot better.
