This piece, for example, took me like 6 hours despite it not being anywhere near something I'm proud of. I see artists making stuff of similar or better quality in a tenth of the time. How?

anon why does this look oddly photobashed?

Idk, I'm still painfully slow, but I figure it comes with experience. Once you know something like the back of your hand, you can do it with your eyes closed

i used reference, but it wasn't photobashed. appreciate tho.

Not op but I have asian genes. It really is a game changer not just in drawing but in other aspects of life.

Isn't it just practice?
The more you draw the faster you get, what a stupid question

>> No.6234137

>>6233832
use a timer?
only allow yourself to work on a piece for 10 minutes and analize what parts is taking you the longest and try to think on a way to make that part faster the next time.
Experiment, don't try to make the same art work; this also will help you as an study.

The rendering is all over the place but maybe that's what you are going for. Honestly it just looks like some 3d background with some stuff painted on top. If you are actually drawing all that I would suggest just use 3d rendering because it looks exactly like that

>how do I increase drawing speed
by drawing faster

you can't sprint faster if you are casually jogging every time you go for a run, pick up the pace fatty

You managed to make the background look like it was AI generated, that's gotta be some sort of talent anon. Keep it up!

censored to avoid doxxing. you can see the perspective doesnt totally match up. mainly tried to copy the bg as well as possible to practice perspective/rendering stuff.

yeah was more of a study anyway.

this painting has an odd but cool vibe to it, probably due to the rendering.

speed issue is primarily regarding workflow. You gotta revise your workflow and at what stage do you spend the longest time working on. Is it ideas? sketch? lineart? rendering? What makes it slow? Use your software to its maximum potential and capability, don't try to fight it. Look at professional peoples workflow.
Also, have a clear direction on the work so that you dont get lost and waste a huge amount of time unnecessarily adjusting.

You're using the wrong tool for the job. If you want to create a 3D render use a 3D modeler and renderer instead of doing it by hand like a weirdo.

He probably meant that you just copied the reference as is and didn’t make it into your own
