switch to digital art. You can get a decent screenless tablet for less than $100. When I was 16/17 I used traditional art, when cleaning my room my dad walked in and saw Nami coom art lying on the floor. Like it seems like you have a method of drawing the nose and open mouth in three-quarter view and I may be wrong! but it looks like the exact degree of rotation that you're looking at the nose and mouth at is slightly different between them? There's no forearm, no hand, and while we want to fill in the details with our minds, taking a half hour more to draw in those details really makes a difference between a drawing, maybe in progress still, looking a little more complete to something that could definitely look complete, despite whatever stage this may be. Everyone's tastes are radically different than yours. You can't always rely on people telling you what they prefer, because when they're gone, or they don't even answer your reply for whatever reason, you're going to be stuck in a rut second guessing yourself on things like the line work, or the shadows, or the coloring, or the light source or whatever.
Trust your gut and do a real good amount of research with reference material. Study professional artists you like and see how they do it, whether it be anime or comic book sources. It's going to have some mistakes and that's okay. Just stop relying on everyone else to finish your work for you. Just get it done, anon. : )

I use the lasso tool, the airbrush and a blur brush. The rest is a work of many layers in multiplicity and low opacity (no more than 3 layers). I think the most important thing is to be tidy.

as for where to post post every possible place you can
theres a lot of different social media sites like newgrounds, deviantart, twitter, hentai foundry, pixiv, reddit, etc
maintain as many as you can and post frequently
it helps to have a goal in mind for what you want to achieve like "i want to get commissions" or "i want to maintain a good patreon/subscribestar/whatever"
discords are helpful for getting comms to theres the /aco/ commission discord out there as well as others

I don't have a singular post to reply to but I also agree with the idea that narrative is how we push back against the AI and expand our creations. even if I myself aren't very scared of AI's potential. I think it's the best way to set yourself apart from others. the most popular fan artists just take established characters and apply their own ideas to them. you can do 600 dpi if you want but even my expensive rig can't support it in CSP without slowdown. 300 is fine. "doujinshi" is usually drawn on A4 paper (full size of 210 x 297mm). professionals publishing in magazines use a larger B4 paper (full size 220 x 310mm) I draw on B4 because CSP has a preset called "for commercial use" with this size
