what streams do you guys watch? i just want something chill to play in the background, but all I can find are streams with hosts that have obnoxious personalities and don't spend any time actually talking about their process, or even art in general. picrel

I avoid all streams with a vtuber unless the artist is sub 100k followers.

will be honest, drawing/art streams are boring af to watch unless you are watching to learn a certain workflow or technique and even then its better to just watch a vod you can manipulate
i dont even enjoy them as background sound while drawing
i do have other random gaming streams as background tho especially if im doing fanart of a certain game i put a stream of it on while doing the work

They either suck and are funny or good but are boring

Kim Jung Gi does live streams sometimes. I'll play the vods, mute them, and then play my own music in the background.

Counter question: How the fuck do you make an art stream interesting?

I draw decently and fast. I'd say I'm a high int on good days... I was thinking drawn quick adventures? It could still take me 20-30 minutes to finish an elaborate scene but on good days maybe less than 15 minutes...
Is that tolerable? Do you think that time is good for keeping audiences engaged?

There's only so many times I can explain my process over and over... I'm generally bad at talking too. It's quite hard to keep commentary up without an active chat (which doesn't exist for newbies) and without much substance to talk about...
Like God I wish we could watch videos and shit and react to them while we draw...
Or I wish I had another set of hands to play a game. I feel like games are one of the only things I:d know how to commentate over but art streams just have SO much down time...
I can't even watch 99.9% of streams myself because they're usually too boring for me... Even when they're my friends. Unless I'm really into the drawing they're doing I wouldn't watch.
But that's such a tiny tiny pinpoint accuracy audience that isn't feasible...

It kinda sucks, because a lot of the popular ones are not that good. Yet, there are a lot of silent ones that ARE good. I do prefer them to be silent because then I can just focus on watching them in order to learn, but I can understand the appeal of just wanting someone to talk to.
