Any wisdom on getting art friends? I was thinking about just sending dm's to smaller artist on youtube or something, since there really isn't an art community where I live.

Ignore the follow notification you get on twitter from the not-so-potential art friend off 4chan and just keep drawing and let them laugh at your cylinders, boxes, and bottled water. Do not listen to their derailing advice because you're drawing more than them and it pisses them off you're posting anyway while they're angry that they aren't because they're afraid of posting "lame shit" on their twitter. And whatever you do, do not engage in threads talking about you as it's likely just them egging on you anonymously. Your bowls of charcoal fruit on newsprint paper is so temporary--ignore and fall in love with the journey. Do it for her.
