I want to be a mentor for artists (like adults just starting to learn art) or someone who does studio sessions for a career. I have been told I either need to be famous or get a master's degree in art. I can't afford that jew amount of money to get that type of degree so I am left with getting famous. I feel so fucked. Why the fuck do I want this? I don't want to work for riot or some other shitty company. I just want to help people. It sucks to watch people go through art alone in modern times. I am not pro-level by all means but I am decent enough that in my college I am the best in all my art classes.

It kind of hits me that maybe this goal is stupid, the number of people who mock and say you can't mentor in art or teach it has been many. I don't want to teach minors because their fucking actually retarded. What I want to do, no one knows how I am supposed to get there other than I teach at college or be famous. My work doesn't get attention online which also rubs this idea further. I don't even want to be popular online I just am told it's only way or go into life crippling debt.

Let's see your work, plenty of crooks trying to teach and mentor in art.

Look at people like Will Weston, I think he does something similar to what you want to do

You might be able to ride on a scholarship if you already have a degree, most of an MFA is doing what you already did, learning art history, and how to teach at an academic level. There are ways around it but they aren’t formal, may not apply, and don’t get you paid better than any other night job.

Drawing wise you seem Sinix level but your sense of comp is terrible based on that collage. If you can tolerate teenagers, you could be a great high school extra curricular art teacher, pick the nerds that have rich parents and ambitions for art college.

Or, patreon live streams. But yea work on those comps first.

no, where I am from I can't actually teach art within an educational institution. HS is just noodle art but with paint and ink. No thanks.

What country is it? I’ll look into programs and options. The chink flu opened up a lot of remote opportunities.

In America, not a single school actually allows you to teach art as art. It is all contemporary express yourself through crafts of noodles shit. I also don't like kids either, teenagers are worse because they are more unstable emotionally.

Art is for people who like art. Full stop. Mosaics and crafts are made by artisans with the same concerns we have. That must be said. Moving on,

Not true at all other than the teenagers part and even then most of them are high as a kite and like digging into art and projects, but I will say this. The alleged adults are worse. If you lack an undergraduate degree, you are unqualified to teach. If you lack a graduate degree, you are unqualified to teach potential peers without equivalent experience that very few have. Teaching adults is hard and if you haven’t been through the academic wringer, you have nothing but your own experience to base it on. I can’t even go into it, it’s a massive topic no matter how you approach it. I’m at a loss to describe the extent of pedagogy and my mother taught special ed and I’m on the other end of special ed and teach occasionally. Fuck, I had to gently remind my major advisor that she had a doctorate in all of this so she could completely revise her curriculum and methodology and she was already really goddamn good at it.

So, I’m not saying you’re unequipped to teach by legal standards. I’m saying you’re not living up to your own standards or that of even the more mediocre teachers. The Marpa/Milarepa dynamic is something to be avoided and is an ever present problem even if you think you’re such an enlightened being as Marpa was. He denounced his own bullshit.

don't go into art unless you are compelled too

>> No.6202926

there is no money in this field, only 1% of all artists have money. I would not sugest anyone to choose this career path unless you are pasionate about the art and don;t care about the money.
