Why You Should Copy Anime:
https://i.imgur.com/zNDsyF0.jpg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbKqIJcIUCw

**Strive for quantity AND quality.**

Anime Studying:
>Copy anime references exactly and draw them from memory. Use illustrations, screenshots, anime figures, 3D models, etc.
>Don’t copy recklessly. Use construction, color theory, and other fundamental concepts to rehearse a drawing process that you can later easily manipulate for original artwork.
>Post all of your anime studies. Post even when you’re told not to. Create an art community that actually draws and improves together instead of just talking about it.
>Number your attempts and link to your previous posts.
>Critiquers should lead by example by posting their studies.

General Anime Style Discussion:
>Questions about achieving certain styles/techniques/compositions etc.
>Drawing methods, study habits, resources, tutorials, tools, software, etc
>Be specific and try to post a sample of your study attempts before asking for help.

**Draw copies from good anime styled references to mindfully up our mileage, internalize appealing aesthetics, and learn from each other’s processes and knowledge.**

That method doesn't really work in clip studio, the brushes provided behave way different.
You might be better off just trying to render it normally in clip studio instead of using the method if you have the wrong software and don't really understand it.

it looks off to you because your only goal in doing this excercise was to just "find the construction."
"Construction" is something you use to draw an actual picture. if you dont follow through and attempt to build upon the preliminary circles and lines you put down initially, then you haven't actually done any construction. you just drew a few circles and lines.
what im trying to say anon, is the value of these lines we call construction is built upon it's relationship to the actual picture on which it will form the basis of. why dont you take the exact same picture you posted and actually try to draw the entire face using the construction lines you put down?

>> No.6175854

>>6175830
Your question entails a lot of different matters. You need to take a step back and unzoom from what you're doing right now.

What is your goal exactly? From what I'm seeing you're trying to copy this drawing and you're frustrated about not getting the same result in front of you. The thing is I see barely any construction and no attempt at trying to understand the forms. You're basically just drawing lines in an attempt to match that drawing.
The reason your lines aren't appealing isn't only that you're lacking mileage and technical expertise in line-making, it's also that you picked a difficult drawing that is difficult to break down (her entire torso and tummy areas are hidden by ambiguous folds).

I would suggest leaving this one aside for now and picking something more straighforward to practice, because the only thing worth studying here (to me) are the hips and legs.
Also, getting better at art means struggling. So feel content that you're struggling. If you weren't that would mean you wouldn't be progressing.

also here man. just in case you wanted to know how other people do it, i took a shot at it myself. you very likely are thinking to yourself right "well that doesnt look like it at all!!". but thats not the point here.
the point here is I used the construction lines to draw the picture. after drawing something like this i would ask myself if the construction lines aided in the picture. if yes, then i suppose you could say I "found the construction".
see, there's no one construction. like i said earlier it is merely a tool. you should rate the effectiveness of this tool based on the results it gives you. you wont know the results unless you actually use (draw) something with it.

>> No.6175958

Nothing is unrelated and I'm afraid you'll have to admit I'm right, no matter how difficult it is.
This guy has absolutely no sense of structure and vaguely put lines without understanding the forms underneath. Look at the (her) right knee for example. Without understanding what kind of form you're drawing, then you cannot know what kind of line (thin vs. thick; straight vs. cruve; ..) you should put best to properly convey what you're tying to describe.

bros im tired of drawing heads in differents perspectives from imagination
eitherway the drawing is wrong or it takes to much time to draw and adjust it just by observation, and the result may be correct but not appealing
using real life references doesnt help either

sorry for the late reply
top left: this one took a long time to correct it cuz the initial one was pretty bad, i think it looks just okay now and not appealing
top right: side and front drawings i made to get some kind of reference for drawing them in differents perspectives
bottom: i tried to follow the cube guidelines and proportions and ended up pretty bad, tried to change the proportions and finally got this which doesnt resemble the front/side views nor the cube proportions/guidelines and looks bad.

Anon be honest do you find my shit appealing or cute atleast? I know it all messy but i can't hesitate the urge to draw on the smallest canvas possible so i have hard times rendering detailes especially on android tablet
So apart from that anything bothers you? Imo my way of drawing hair is shit so i must put more effort in learning how to draw it.

I honestly find your stuff pretty appealing and I'm envious you got the drive to push these out.
Like you said I think you could see about working on improving the way you do hair. It's not bad per se but it kinda feels like the hair you find on figures, if you can see it? It feels too solid and unaffected by gravity.

!!I'M NOT ARTIST!!! I'm only like cute pictures, so can't judge your art construction and technique, only impression.
1. Cute, but correct right cheek form, looks strange.
2. Strange cheek form and very strange shadow make this face creepy.
3. Strange face, again. Mouth isn't in place?
4. Good, no problems, color it please.
All: nice colors (except 4), nice line, nice bodies (except 3, looks too thin for me). As a non-artist I can say your only problem is cheek contour. You should watch more cute pictures and copy cute faces.

no ear, shoulders dont match the angle of the head.

Also you over complicated mikus bangs, puff out the cheeks and push in the eye socket, and a tilt to the head can add more cuteness.
