you clearly know form and anatomy, and are at a stage where its mostly just refining what you already know which is a massive grindfest

but what might help is get out of the comfort zone and try some pure line drawing giving more definition to everything instead of leaving things implied by value and tone
this will automatically show you both the knowledge you really have and the lack of knowledge and flaws that were being hidden behind the implied and abstract parts of your style of drawing
from there its just studying those areas that see you lack ability

As anon said. I also think a some of the shadow shapes aren't as properly thought of. I dont understand how the midface is in shadow but somehow the lower part of the eye is catching intense lighting.
The sword on the foreground is also distracting. In my opinion it isn't as cohesive and some elements can be simplified to have an all-round better viewing experience.

Man, just think before you draw, literally that. Draw a lot of thumbnails, go for quality instead of quantity. Plan your stuff through and through.

I've been in a similar spot, where i just sketched over and over without thinking, with the mindset "Ok, this isn't gonna turn out to be great, but it's just practice. I'm 100% sure can do better if i push myself, but i don't need to, because this is just practice".
If you plan things out, you will push yourself more. If you push yourself more, you will begin planning things out to avoid wasting time on something that's not worth it. By doing this, you will learn how to make appealing stuff as you get more and more experienced, and you can learn this fast since you already have a good grasp on draftsmanship.

-EXAMPLE-
You want to draw goblin porn, like a goblin girl being raped and cummed in the ass. Instead of rushing into the composition and drawing some random sex position, think of the situation.
>Why is the goblin being raped?
>Was the goblin village attacked? How? When? By who?
>How did it happen?
>What happened before the moment you are depicting?
>Who is raping the goblin?
>What will happen after?
>What is the mood of the scene?
>Is it horrific?
>If the goblin gal is enjoying it, why would she?
>Maybe her husband has a tiny goblin dick? Maybe she's witnessing the carnage of her kin and hopes to be spared if she pretends to like it?
Write down stuff like that, answer it yourself, thumbnail it a bunch of times, draw. If you practice this, you will be able in the future to do this in a much more free-flow manner.

Figure out what you want to achieve, and think deeply about it. And be careful not to fall for the anxiety meme, m8

yeah, its digital made in procreate. i use a ton of different brushes. really just whatever i feel like using at the time with no real strategy other than for the dots spatter brush that i used for the foam. i think for that i use avvart's brush pack, although pretty much any brush pack you get will likely have that sort of brush

But on the other hand he's an older guy with a well groomed beard, his clothing is nice and embroidered with symbolism, he has delicate trinkets like feathers. His bearing doesn't really fit as a gatherer or someone doing physical labor.
As such I'm at a loss at what the character is supposed to be exactly. Is he an intelligent mystical sage or is he a dude who gathers mushrooms for a living? Neither design point really tells me and they're contradictory.

Thanks for detailed feedback. I had a background story for this character, and had a reason to make all those decisions, but reading your feedback I understand that some were a miss. For example beard was meant to be unattended, but after reading your comment it looks like it was well groomed indeed. Thanks once again, it will help me to get better in the future. Character design is my weakest subject matter by the way, but I forced myself to include some to show I can draw characters too.

Figures- I am not a anatomy master by any stretch of imagination, I actually don't enjoy designing characters too much. I love props and hard surface design in general, so my figures are... well- pic related. Not great.
As for rendering- I prefer lineart by far, that's how I design but I can render reasonably well. I spent last couple months learning how to photobash to speed up process. I have grinded fundamentals like crazy couple years ago and it paid off. Thanks for feedback!
