If at all.
Basically, I want my gf to move in with me, so I figure she'll find out eventually. I'm worried how she'll respond because she's pretty insecure about her appearance, so if she finds out I draw girls like picrel (not my work, just an example) I'm afraid of how it might affect our relationship.
Have you ever been in a situation where you told someone you drew coom art?

You're looking for serious replies, I can give you one.

I write erotica for a living. It's a job I took when I found out my GF was pregnant 7 years ago. I didn't tell her I was taking the job because I didn't want her to know until I was actually making money with it (didn't want her thinking I was some pervert). I knew it would take at least a few months before it was making money.

Well, she ended up finding out while I was out one day and she went to borrow my laptop. Turned into our biggest fight ever. She almost left me over it. I told her I wouldn't keep doing it, and it was a source of tension for a long time.

She had a miscarriage and we no longer needed a steady income source, so I went back to being a NEET.

A year later, the old erotica books I had published were making a few hundred bucks each month. It was my GF's idea for me to start it up again for extra cash, as long as I didn't hide anything from her. Now, I have over 600 books published and make about 12k per year. We're married and have 3 kids. But keeping the secret almost ended everything.

what I did was kinda weird, I talked to a friend of her (they both are chinaboos) and asked her for two male characters from one of their bl shit, then I drew coom of them and showed her that, she obviously liked it and the shock value was gone, I just told her 'I draw must more fucked up shit than this' (not using those words though) and it became normal for her

your story is sweet, honestly. it shows that girls aren't weirded out by the fact of drawing and writing erotica, it's the part of "hiding" that makes them upset.

akshually the gf can find it sexy to learn her man is drawing erotica for a living

I stopped drawing smut (for money) because I don't need to do so to get an income

I've been trying to transition into writing scifi/fantasy because I never did like writing erotica; I just started doing it because I searched online for jobs I could do from home and that came up in a reddit post. I don't regret it, because I get to work from home, only about 6 hours a day, 4-5 days a week, and make more than most people my age--but I hate hiding what I do from my kids. My wife and I have an agreement now where she doesn't want to know what I'm writing about (it's mostly sissy and crossdresser stories, nothing I'm actually into but it sells).

But my wife definitely does not find it sexy. She just likes the money lol

Looks like a control freak in action, nothing sweet about that. Guy was honestly trying to put some bread on the table, and look where it got him.
If the woman in question wasn't a control freak, there would've been no reason to hide anything from her.

>> No.6149535

>>6149530
Hm, sort of. She has some control issues for sure, and has worked through them for the most part over the years. She's aware of it. It's much easier now to be open with her than it was back then.

By hiding it from her for so long, I screwed myself because when she found out, it seemed like some weird fetish I was hiding from her (I was mostly writing books about men turning into women and being fucked by other men, because there was a huge market for that at the time). Had I just been open and said, I found out about this and want to see if I can make money doing it, it wouldn't have been such a shitshow.

You probably should've told her at the beginning and got it out of the way. If she bailed back then, it wouldn't be as difficult as losing her now.
That said, your purpose should supercede everything else.
If she can't handle you drawing porn, then she isn't the one for you. Find a girl who is confident and not a beta Becky.
For if you constrain yourself for her and stop drawing porn, you will lose your sense of purpose, become depressed, and she'll leave you anyway.

I just enjoy drawing, always have. Didn't even know about coom commissions 7 years ago when I found out my girl was pregnant, otherwise I probably would have done that. Glad I didn't though because writing as a career has ruined writing as a hobby for me; there's no longer any joy in it, even though I always thought I wanted to be a serious novelist (wanted to write horror and thrillers).

Now I just get to draw for fun, no interest in doing commissions because I would never make anything close to what I make writing, even if I grind fundies for the next ten years.

Looking back at it and other anon's post, I wish I could delete my post now and make another.

But yeah it seems like your wife is toxic and needs therapy. Hopefully it works out, I know that my lover writes smut and draws nsfw for money and I often try to get him to send it to me first. Since we're both artists I can give him insight when he asks me for some.

I'm also his biggest fan so that helps too.

We've been together over ten years and that was our biggest ever fight. I'm not saying she's perfect, she's worked through a lot of things. I don't think I would say that she's toxic because of how she reacted when she found out that I'd been secretly writing and selling erotic novels (with a female pen name) whenever she left the house to work.

I would say I'm not bad.

The best time to tell your gf was the first week you started dating.
The second best time to tell her is now.
If, rather than you telling her, she finds out... You will not look good and she is far more likely to freak - after all, if YOU felt the need to keep it a secret from her, it must be BAD, right?

For one of my customers, telling his girl about his love of *being stomped on and eaten by giant furries* did not end his relationship as he expect it to, it prompted her commit to getting engaged. She wasn't 'into it' or anything, but she was happy to find out he was not the super-vanilla shy nerd he had been pretending to be for several years.
