Is this really it? Do we just draw in our bedrooms all day, and then that's it? Where's the glory and adventure? Where are the cool relationships you form, or the sights you'll see, or the glamorous parties? I thought being an artist was supposed to be exciting.

This is 1% of you time as an artist and only if you have what it takes to make it, rest is just you drawing indoors. The act of making good art will never be a social hobby.

You have to seek the parties and the relationships yourself.

Why would you want to be an artist if you don't appreciate the solitude that comes with it? In my experience when I'm left alone for long periods of time my imagination becomes highly active, I get tons of ideas, and even notice a distinct improvement in my perception.

>draw in our bedrooms all day
Go outside and draw. Sometimes I draw in the woods behind my house; it's especially comfy in fall.

You dumb son of a bitch asshole retard, obviously in the context of devoting yourself to something we're talking about time being the biggest sacrifice--why in the fuck do you think people have problems committing to anything that isn't about DOING WHAT FEELS GOOD IMMEDIATELY. MOST people want instant gratification and the path of least resistance to MAXIMIZE time spent doing things that are the most rewarding while they are giving up time. Giving up time for something that doesn't require hard work feels like less of a sacrifice. Do you need your fucking head rattled some more?

i would say it ended long ago. sometime between the late 1800s and early 1900s. pretty much everything after that is an unending series of mass produced, mass marketed, deconstructionist movements until you hit the whole "anything can be art" era of pure fucking cancer. the internet has only further fractured the already shattered remains from the golden age. art as it was once understood no longer carries the same meaning between two people let alone hundreds of thousands.
