Speaking as someone who doesn't Like stuff that often, but follows lots of /ic/ people, I might HIT THAT HEART BUTTON when i see an artist I follow going in the right direction, but I don't necessarily like his art.

So if he asks for an art request, I am not particularly interested in seeing anything done by him.

As an artist, I avoid asking people to request me stuff because they always have shittaste and drawing whatever ugly/bland character they pick kills my already frail motivation to draw.

By the way, my post feels like it adds nothing constructive to the thread, so here's something you should do:

Sit down for 30 minutes with notepad open.
Write down, with very little judgment, a lot of ideas of things you think could be fun to draw.

Pick a few characters you enjoy, imagine some scenes or costumes or actions. "Yotsuba playing with VR".
Maybe it's not a character, but an idea "A tarantula made of glass".

Have 10, 20, 30 ideas.
Now you don't need to ask anybody and you can choose whatever you think will be appealing but also challenging/fun to you.

Find your voice, even if it's derivative art.
If you're a coomer, then disregard everything I just said, just delete your account, you will not be missed.
