I might be Dunning-Krugering right now, but I feel like I have improved a bit. And I think it's all just a matter of concentration and thinking. Because when I draw, I just draw. I don't think. And quality suffers because of that.

Took me a while but I finally finished this commission work, a lot of details and I wanted to make sure the colors looked nice. Some people commented on the pose being out of balance but is kinda what it comes with digitigrades and perspective, but I will try to pay more attention to it.

tell me what should i do if i'm only motivated to draw coom art (especially buttholes) but ive already spent all the poses i can imagine multiple times and its getting so stale. its especially hard because i draw ferals and they have more limited selection of nice poses as opposed to anthro.

Thanks bro, if you wanna do something similar to what i did what's important is controlling your values and learning how to paint. Try to draw everyday or at least 4 times a week and go out of your way to study things you don't understand, perspectives, compositions, movements... copy the art you like and you'll notice most of their appeal is in the composition, values and color, in fact I copied League's Illustration to study all those things. I'd suggest focusing on fundies like anatomy, construction, and gesture, playing a bit with perspective from time to time and once you get all those right start applying them in a composition, don't limit yourself to just drawing and paint a bit from time to time. its cute, i like the stylization you went for, although i think you could push for way more visual interest with the linework, all of the intricate detail on his costume and tools kinda meshes into noise when looked from afar. Compositionally theres this blob of noise and detail around his hip drawing the eye but not leading anywhere
also personally i think the knees and tail could use some more anatomical polish to not come off as jarring compared to the fidelity of everything else

Thank you, this is all very helpful. He's still a WIP, so I'm not even close to being done with him yet. I'll definitely be adding more details here and there, like on his tail for example. Although to be honest, I'm still really bad at adding those little soft details that people add to bodies to give the definition of volume.

I think, compositionally, the noise issue you mentioned could probably be rectified when I color him and use the rendering itself to direct attention, but I'll keep in mind everything you said.

I like women. I enjoy the idea of them being career driven. I usually get along more with wives than with husbands. The dick measuring with the bros is so annoying. They are always talking about sports, craft brew beer, whiskey, cars, different credit card perks, insurance, how good they are at their job.. the whole time they just want to tell you a “thing” it’s pretty insufferable. I talk to wives about cooking, different recipes, gardening, drawing, how horrible working is, their thoughts on different things.

When I was working all the wives were complete trash, but the women I worked with were really cool. Likewise for all the couple friends we have, the women are more successful and they are easier to talk to than their vapid partners. I think the answer to your problem is that you need to hang out with more successful women.
