wip I'm working on of a girl thrusting a sword. I'm struggling with showing off the anatomy and boney landmarks, which I made apparent by making the lines super transparent. I especially had a hard time fitting the head to the body and making it look as natural as possible.

You're right the nose isn't quite right, been having some issues depicting subtle angles, appreciate the observation. Looks alright, anon. Frame the drawing better so it just doesn't look a doodle in the corner or try aiming to something slightly more finished.

The way you draw I think you could make your sketchs like this look much more finished with just a bit more polishing. I will be honest, I don't think the the colors you use for the lines and shadow help because they have so little contrast and makes reading the drawing kinda hard, but the art is nice. I think her heads are too small and it gives more a petite vibe than loli but I'm biased on that front, you probably would want a second opinion on that one.

Okay, I tried, full body foreshortening is always such a fucking pain in the ass and depending on the pose it gets worse. I'm not the best at this but I think I can give you some leads.

First, Foreshortening is just applied perspective, if you can't or just didn't got your shit together about perspective enough, just don't, they are basically the same thing but applied in different types of drawing. I normally separate in my head two types of bases for apply foreshortening. One if occlusion, basically one thing hiding the other or changing how you perceive it's shape base on angles, as for example if you look at drawing of bobbies from above or from bellow is easy to notice how the "curve that define the shape of the breast changes depending on the angle and second is distortion, that basically changes the proportion of the applied body part depending on the angle and can be really counter intuitive, since things from far away not only get smaller they also get shorter depending exactly what angle you are looking and things from close not only get bigger but also get shorter not trough distortion alone but also occlusion. Time to time you can see some people, include me getting confused with this sort of thing making certain body parts too long or too short, especially the body trunk, I always see people fucking up the body trunk. Another thing to take in consideration is to imply form the best way you can, like how her stocking don't curve exactly as they should from this angle, you could make the curve a lot more produced and imply a lot more in an lower angle.

I highlighted some of the things I think you should distort or occlude, green is distort and orange is occlude. But is like I said, is mostly 100% applied perspective, if you can't do the boxes you can't really think how things should look in perspective and can apply proper foreshortening. I know my example is not the best but yeah, I hope it helps just a little bit.

How do Japanese people draw without doing hairy lines and longest flowing strokes?
Even beginners do it easily, I've seen them do live drawings and none do hairy lines.
How do I learn this skill?
My sketches are way too messy and I can do single strokes with some curves and not a bunch of really short ones but it's way too sloppy even then.
