we had this thread 2 days ago. I don't think many have had profound realization and actualization within that time period to gain a vision. 99.9% of all artists are too stupid to have any sort of vision. its all about making money, making xeroxes, making chinese cartoons (to make money). its all about porn and anime girls standing in photobashed backgrounds, its all about loomis heads and grid drawings. no one cares, no one has vision. No one works for free. Artists are simply just too stupid to have the internal monologue required to gain any sense of an overarching "REASON"

I always liked making stories because I'm a natural daydreamer and made characters as child and wanted to create messages or themes people may relate to but I found it would be pretentious of me mostly because I find myself incredibly stupid, unwise, a fool-- and I think I will be for a lifetime unless I am able to live thousands of years of life experience and become a genius polymath so I just thought drawing and painting whatever to learn more was what I wanted to do. However, I'm starting to consider writing children's stories, they don't require deep knowledge of the world to write and I think a lot of children these days are lost. IMO people underestimate the influence of childhood media and I've seen some strange children's books that really disturb me and that may have be what made me think maybe I should write kids' stories. I think most can think of a piece of media they consumed as a child that may have deeply moved them even today. I also hear of people having strong memories of weird or unpleasant children's books they have read that have followed them until adulthood so why not create more positive stories and ones to try and encourage critical thinking or imagination for kids. But do kids still read anymore? Aren't they just all on social media such as tiktok now? Idk, I might be ridiculous because above is starting to sound like armchair psychology.

Never thought about a vision or what my goal was with my art aside from the usual "get moneh" goal, but I think it has come naturally that I just want to leave a special mark on people, a mark that varies dependin on what or who I am drawing.

White haired chick used to be someone liked by a bunch of spic anons, it made me happy she was special for them so I made a bit more of her, not only because I found this character enjoyable to draw, but because I felt she (and by extention I) was being special for some people and I just wanted them to be happy with my stuff.
There's other characters with different visions, but they all go down to "leaving a special mark and making people happy with it"

I guess you cant ask much from people who normally come to the art scene with the already vague vision of making money and nothing else (which also obstacles their learning process kek), but I guess even then people who think about nothing but making money out of art end up getting a more elaborated vision as time goes by... I mean, if anything, you always have the animation field where you can adapt simple and cute storybook styles and narrative into an audiovisual format, no needing to do the most dynamic animation ever with millions of frames of constant movement or some shit, Im pretty sure something simple, almost static and full of sovl will do just fine. If it can work, then you can bet there's going to be parents out there who would rather have their kids entertained by some of your stories rather than some random fag doing rotten jokes and cringe fuel dances.

It's not an ego thing. He's right. The days of the starving artist are long gone. Now the artists don't want to starve; they want to be cogs in a pipeline. There's also that no draw /g/ mentality creeping into digital art that AI made more blatant. It's incredibly hard to find one where you say "Wow he took it to the next level this has influenced me and my thinking about artistic expression." That's how you end up getting mogged by pic related H game because it's vision that hides away underground

Trying to make scenes that feels normal and extraordinary at the same time.
So it feels like "random" situations from a distant future.

And also to have something to look at when I'll be old if I get to print my work.

My goal is to make a world that people fall in love with, at least for a time. Something like chainsaw man comes to mind in terms of both artistically interesting to me, and having lots of depth to it's world. I don't want this world to suck people in as much as I wan't people to use it as a tool for how they wan't to change the real world
