That's how they get money, those kind of pirate site usually have an referral ad somewhere that if you actually bought subscription to that specific filehost through the website's referral link, they either get money or have their storage extended and the new subber guy get top speed download. Some filehost in the past also giveout money if your upload reach certain amount of download.

The scanner and the host website most likely not even exclusive because if it was the case they'd go after ehentai for stealing scans, which only makes sense among the piracy scene.

I own the art box. You definitely don't get concept art for every card.
What you get is: a book containing some of Takahashi's art (mostly DM related, and taken from his SNS accounts), another book containing concept art for a few archetypes (a very small selection considering how many archetypes this game has), and then a third one containing art for all the cards: however every image is essentially a scan of the card, with the frame and everything else. Literally the same shit you find on Yugipedia, the only difference is that it's actually worse since the images are smaller than the cards themselves. No shit no one scanned it, to be honest.

So I want to make my art better, like a lot better. I want to get good at illustration and right now want to focus primarily on the human form. I know I can do boxes, I know I can do still life, I just can't draw the human form.

I decided for the next few months I just want to grind anatomy, so I picked up stonehouse anatomy from this thread, but I'm curious, what is the proper way to study something like this? Just read through it, and draw as I read? It starts with details of the face like the eyes, nose, etc. Shouldn't I start by learning the skeleton and landmarks and stuff?

Do you guys know of any books on animation that manage to be as fascinating as Illusion of Life? I had been reluctant to read any of the books segments besides the ones focusing on animated motion. But after finally bothering to work through the remainder of this masterpiece, I've come to love this book more than 95% of the stuff that's residing on my shelf. Is there anything comparable to it in scope, quality of prose, and sheer amount of production insights? In my collection, the only books I'd consider similarly extensive are Dimensions of Dialogue (Jan Svankmajer), Bill Plympton's books if combined (though he's a bit of an annoying faggot) and Sneg na Trave/Yuri Norsteyn no Shigoto (books on and by Norsteyn). However, neither of which are as competently written, nor are they able to entertain and educate similarly well.

Stonehouse bro, when you finish scanning, could you make a full .cbz file beside the complete pdf. Some of us much prefer the image format. I can extract images from the pdf, but convert back and forth may lower the quality...

Thought I might read Leon Battista Alberti's On Painting (1435); this was literally the first book published that explains linear perspective. It makes me really appreciate all the different resources on perspective and art that we have now.
Imagine reading that in the early 1400s:

I don't think i would've understood it if I wasn't already familiar with perspective.

It's probably not more practical than a modern text, but it was interesting in an 'art history' sense. He goes on to talk about more than perspective, and it's an interesting look into what some renaissance masters might've studied. It's neat to see how more than a few of the things he says still hold true after 600
