the point of gesture is that you aren't drawing any forms or contours actually seen on the body (at least in vilppus method). I'd recommend starting with it because it's one of the harder things to understand but it probably doesn't matter which order you do things. Just dont ignore gesture or ur drawings will look flat and ugly and gay

The whole point of the gesture lesson is basically Jesus healing a blind man to see that the pose has flow. Just be aware that every thing has feel, movement, energy and move on. You don’t have to feel it the way vilppu is feeling it.

You can skip it and just try and draw stuff based on the other lessons but you’ll still draw like shit and when you ask for help here /ic/ will call you a retard for skipping gesture.
