>> No.5219014

>>5218286
If they allow you to save the video through their video player directly, there's no way that's against the rules.

But it's against the rules to share what you're downloading of course, and it's always possible they're embedding some metadata through that player.. but unlikely here.

Even if you use a script to rip the files though (with something like youtube-dl which works on non-youtube sites), they're always going to be able to see which user is doing it if they really want to.

It's paywalled content and you must be logged into an account, so even a VPN won't help you with that really.

>> No.5219115

>>5218067
>>5219014
yeah, why did they update it? It must be a trap.

>> No.5219166

>>5219115
I highly doubt it's a trap though, and it's probably not even really a custom video player for their site alone.

Even if there's some metadata about your account in the initial file, it probably wouldn't carry over if you just ran it through a converter like Handbrake and uploaded the new file instead. The main thing that wouldn't fix is if they had a watermark with your user name added to the video itself, but that would probably be pretty visible and not hidden.

And considering this doesn't commonly happen with movie/tv show releases that generate way more revenue, they probably aren't putting this much effort into catching you sharing these art courses.

>> No.5219226

Well try one of those videos you can't normally download with youtube-dlc

I don't have a membership, but it worked on one of the free videos.

You just will have to authorize it with either passing your username/password (if that's supported), or just a Cookie after logging in regularly in your browser.

And by default it looks like it's grabbing the video in all quality types allowed though, but you should be able to pass a parameter to only download the highest quality too. Pretty powerful tool.
