Not the OP. I've drawn nsfw stuff for a few years alongside practicing the "real" art that I eventually want to do for a living. But for quick extra bucks I wouldn't mind learning to do furries (my style wouldn't need much tweaking for that). Is there a specific look or niche in the furry sphere that's especially hot for getting commissions? Like a popular artist to use for inspiration?

mystik is a favourite of mine, great rendering. there's a website I can't remember (might be in the furry general) that shows you 3d animal skulls so you can get used to the anatomy of the head of different species or at least use them as reference. the rest like limbs and fur/skin depends on the species. ive done one shitty furry commission so far and desu not sure if it was worth changing my whole game for, though I'm thinking of making a separate comm sheet for them, running it on some sites while running my non anthro stuff and seeing which one is best for cash

unless you are either really good at drawing or a furry yourself it is unlikely you will be successful doing commissions for furries. you need to actually be a furry to "get" what they find appealing about it and what they like, plus you'll probably get burnt out doing it fast if you dont enjoy it to some degree. otherwise you need a high level of skill to cover these shortcomings.

Theres no texture and your shapes aren't appealing. They aren't full body either. Work on making your art less "blobby" IMO, shape language is just as important as anything else. I don't really feel anything coming out of the art either, it's not necessarily cute, it's not necessarily cool or manly, think about more what you are trying to convey with your art than just drawing blob faces.
