IF YOU ARE A /BEG/INNER IN ART, please use this thread to post pieces for critique or ask for advice.

Use this thread instead of making new threads or post in the Drawthread with fundamental exercises.

POST DRAWINGS YOU NEED HELP WITH.

RESIZE YOUR IMAGES TO ~1000 PIXELS using one of the following methods:
1. screenshot the image and post that instead
2. change camera capture settings to something smaller
3. send to computer and resize in picresize.com

Sticky document:

When you're taking commissions for NSFW images what do you do to confirm the person's age? I assume if I'm demanding a portion of the fee upfront and the transaction is going through paypal that that's some confirmation that they're at least 18 but I was wondering what other artists do with this situation. I got a Huion H640P as a gift and I'm not sure how to set it up well for me. I have an ultrawide monitor so idk where the hell to have it placed. If I have it be the full size of my monitor I feel cramped and feel as if I have to be zoomed in to be able to make broad strokes, but if I have it usable at only a small portion of the screen it feels off as well. I think maybe this tablet is just a bit too small for that set up, or maybe that's just me being retarded. Maybe I should just start with paper

if you set an active area of 1080*1920, the tablet would have the same ratio as your screen to keep the movement speed across both axis identical, and that would still be 75% of it.

You can actually get a lot of free time when you cut stuff like playing vidya, watching TV, and get a healthy enough lifestyle to get by with 7 hours of sleep instead of 9. It's like taking evening martial arts lessons, the ones for adults end at 10PM, you're home at 11, eat half a sandwich and pass out on your bed because you just spent two hours getting thrown everywhere, but after a month you stop giving a shit about the pain and hunger and just do it.

that thing you have in top center, was that just a random curve you shaded? i do those all the time. it's pretty cool what it sometimes produces

donuts/torus are good practice too, which i see you've done

here's one for you: do a snake

put it's face maybe below center a bit? its body will get more slender as it goes up the page. do several bends. it's a nice perspective exercise, and keep in mind the shading will alternate based on the direction of the bend. i will let you figure out what that means, you'll see...

That artifacting is caused by selecting an area in antialiased line art and filling it. Instead of doing that, you should put in the time and add the color (or flat black in this case) by hand, on another layer.
If you're too lazy for that, use an aliased brush.

you should not need a "check" to see how close that ear is to the cheekbone. the perspective makes no sense since you're seeing the top of her head. i'm not saying the origianal was good either, but the redline is even worse.

Im a very new beginner, started a few days ago. I was following the sticky but I got tired of drawing upside down igor. I tried my hand at what I think a "photo study" is. I know I definitely need to get better at copying the lines (hence why im practicing) but im also not sure what to do about texture. I also find shading in particular intimidating, im working with #2 pencils and computer paper.

First time using charcoal. What do you think?
How do I improve to use it to its full potential and not just use it like a pencil? I realize drawing on large pieces of paper helps but I can't seem to relax my hand and go for big confident strokes

pretty sure you just need to do more exercises of peter han anon but just with bigger strokes, find a comfortable position to be in and just draw bigger strokes.
after your done publish it online and say you drew it on a notepad and call it a sketch, you'll get massive gain of folllowers and also as a added bonus indirectly crab very inexperience artist that look up to you.

no, if you're only doing copies then you're never asking yourself what decisions are being made when the original artist was drawing whatever. get a bunch of their art as ref then draw something new. refer to their art and see how they've done something when needed.
