How often do you draw? Do you only draw, or do you do anything else?

>> No.5196238

I aim for at least 3-4 hours a day. Am a chemistry major.

>> No.5196241

Once a week. I'm a NEET.

>> No.5196246

Try for 3-4 hours a day but shitpost too much. Do weightlifting/calisthenics but looking to get into Muay Thai soon. Am studying IT.

Kinda off topic, but is IT worth it? I hate my job and want to quit and go back to school, and was thinking of doing IT.

>> No.5196262

I aim for 2 to 3 hours a day after work (teaching kids art) but I track my time spent actually drawing and I usually average about an hour and a half.

Literally whenever I feel like it for as long as I feel like it. Sometimes 10 minutes sometimes 6 hours. Why bother when you dont feel like it. I learn more when i actually want to do something. Only ever do shit you want to do

>> No.5196272

At least an hour on the weekdays, as much as I can on weekends. I’m just a hobbyist. My job isn’t art related at all, but I like it and it’s a comfy salaried WFH role. As far as other hobbies go, I also like to sew and play videogames.

The second, because I'm too lazy to do something out of my comfort zone so every commission has become pretty repetitive. You can easily avoid the repetitiveness if you want though

>> No.5196277

Far less than I should lol. I'm technically a NEET, only do some work around the house 1/2 hours a day, but after that I only draw about 1 hour a day on average. Would absolutely love to draw more, but I keep having these bullshit issues with my energy levels where I just end up slouching around all day, physically unable to concentrate or even hold a pen straight. Shit sucks tbqh.

It’s easy enough for the most part, if you have at least normie intelligence and good work ethic you can do it and get paid decent

You need to do something else mate. Diminishing returns, if you just draw all the time you can brute force gains but the human brain is not a robot and you’re not supposed to function that way. Do other shit, stop rushing gains and just make drawing a part of your life. The harder you force it the more your gains will slow down. That doesn’t mean draw for 5 minutes a day tho

>> No.5196307

I draw every day, usually 2-3 hours. I've been drawing since I was a kid, so it's become a habit. Feels weird if I don't sketch out something. I usually have a Law & Order variant on or listening to music.
The only time I don't draw is if I'm traveling and it's been awhile since I've left because of the coff

Every night or every other night for 2-4 hours. Any longer and my wrist will start to give out on me, since i use my hands so much. i've learned this as well too
i had a period of my life where i drew for 10 hours straight every single day taking only very short breaks and not eating much because i heard from some asshole YouTube artist (FengZoo or some shit) that you had to draw for 12-16 hours a day to get good at drawing

honestly, fuck that guy
most artists don't even draw that long, especially ones that people like me would consider to be good
being "good" isn't pro level, being "good" is being able to execute what you want without having to be restricted by anything other than what you allow (i.e. not being restricted because you can't draw a face for instance)

made me despise artists to be honest
