I will let all of you in on a secret. The real money is not just in any generic furry art, it comes from "species colletors".

You spend a week or two developing a new breed of furry-esque species, with it's own unique features, and polish the fuck out of it. Make sure to include plenty of descriptions, maybe hire someone to write a page or two about them... then auction the species.

1 species can go anywhere from $100-$20K depending on how good you are. Realize that these species collectors want to flaunt ownership on interesting, cool and fuckable species, just like normalfag rich people would flaunt new cars.

Now you are a lot more powerful than you were before, use this kowledge wisely.

The best option is just draw or paint real animals AND in physical format, you can get low money with digital, and more global reach, but with analog formats, you can even make the drawing in digital and make a print of the drawing and sell it with a picture frame, and then just up the price making the print bigger, wich generally some people want more. So is easy money if you have good skills, you can literally capitalize ypur products in any place of the internet, family firendly, no identity moral questions if you are a kid, etc, etc.
If you draw bad then just get a job and dont waste your time, and draw in the free time until you get good, that way you are not gonna feel tension for get money, because you already have, and you can just focus in the drawing

It's definitely possible! I'd guess that most of my comms come from FA/Twitter and I make a decent amount from them. It's not enough to have my own place or anything but admittedly I don't work as much and as fast as I could, otherwise it'd probably be fine.

I know of others who only do SFW (nsfw in rare exceptions) and they make good money from it, I guess it just depends on your audience and what kind of work you do. If you have a good product, people will pay for it!

Anon is kinda right, "closed species" adopts aren't an instant moneymaker in all cases but Grem2's (the species they pictured) are notorious for high bids and hoarders. If you get a closed species right then they can consistently auction for hundreds of dollars each. Some will have lore and most have tiers of traits which scale by rarity, with the rare ones increasing the price. Like anon said, if a species hits right then people will even buy one just for the sake of having one (or several), but the communities can get a little messy.

If you have a nice style and an appealing design (sometimes you don't even need a unique concept if the style can carry the design) and it's something you'd be into then it could be worth a look, but I'd also not throw yourself into without doing a bit of research first.
