well, that is 4chan in general. idk, I just expect people to be familiar with the general vibe of this site before coming here. like, the site has a rumor of being overly edgy, racist, direct, brutal and stuff. We as long time users know that 4chan is a wide array of different personality types and sub cultures. I just don't think anyone is gonna visit this place without some preconception of what this place is.People come here bause it's an edgy alternative to something else. that is usually /b/ and then they migrate to other boards and maybe grow up somewhat.

Very true. Underneath the annoying crabbing and all, /ic/ isn’t that awful. It’s the only place I can get consistent and sometimes thorough critique. Reddit is there as well but the art subs aren’t as active and critique feels harder to obtain even on crit based subs

I browse this site every day have for years, it can't be all shit. half of the people contributing in this thread probably wouldn't have drawn several hands if not for this thread. but yeah, you have to learn to navigate through the crabs. but I'm convinced there are many people on here willing to share and elevate the community as a whole, / take the mega links as an example). I'm not doing much myself, I try to call out crabs and I try to give genuine critiques. like I said, others are keeping expensive premium mega accounts open for the benefit of us all.
