You could try sketching loosely, doing flat colors on a layer below the lines and then merge them to render everything together. Refine the lineart at the very end by painting it on top of the brushstrokes as a final touch

I'll have to give that a try. I see some artists basically paint silhouettes first, and only scarcely use lines to define things. I'll keep what you said in mind. I think I tend to use linework as a crutch.

Hey just want to say thanks for suggesting bristle brush as rendering brush. It's really fun to add in the broad vague strokes.
I guess the hard part would be blending the colours and choosing which strokes are 'prominent'. Any tips on that?

Nothing too useful unfortunately since I am an amateur that draws based on gut feeling
I guess skin should generally be the softest, most blended part of the rendering with an exception here and there for the shadows to imply volume, making the brushstroke follow the curves of the body. Usually the most prominent strokes are the hard shadows. Everything else like hair or cloth can have messier brushwork to contrast the smooth skin, but that is personal preference

Brush is >>5142267, medium amount of manual pressure, stabilisation set to S2 to allow for soft, swooping motions. Lines are usually in black, but the layer is set to multiply so it' usually picks up some of the hues of the colours beneath it. I zoom in pretty far when I'm done and go over almost each line to adjust for line weight and depth.

Here's the un-resized lineart if you want to look. I draw on pretty big canvasses so I can zoom in, so sorry about the large size.

Really depends on what you mean by beginner, and I'm pretty tempted to just say you don't, but I know better than that and that there are people out there willing to shell out money for absolute shit (sometimes literally) if it appeals to their fetishes.
As a beginner, you'd need some stellar brand marketing, and I wouldn't charge too much. Then again, your mileage may vary, because we tend to undervalue our work.

If I were to draw this I'd compose it from a low angle, with the viewer viewing the scene in front of the box from the floor. Draw the person in the box's head visible above the lip of the box, looking back at the person opening it, who is staring down at them, visible from the waist up, maliciously/lustfully. Because the box would be obscuring much of the scene, this is a good opportunity to get creative with a cross-section. Draw the box partially transparent so you can see the bound body of the person in the box.

Np. I had a similar problem a while back where I was drawing decent stuff, and it wasn't so much that the poses and context we're bad, but the overall shot was just boring and pulled the whole piece down. It wasn't until I started to try to think, excuse the pun, outside the box, that things started to improve.

Whilst composing a piece try to keep things like this in mind:

Do I have to get the whole scene in the canvas?
Can I do an extreme closeup shot?
What if I rotate the canvas so the scene is being viewed diagonally? What if I turn it upside down?
Will cropping the piece actually improve the scene as a whole?

As humans we are used to viewing things from eye level so it's easier to understand everything as if we're looking at some straight-on or looking down on it. Part of the excitement of erotic art isn't just the content, it's exciting angles/perspectives and putting the viewer into a position that is outside of their boring norm.
