I like that he looks like he's making what he wants to make, but he should try and focus on getting construction down. And I don't just mean placing lines to figure out where to put the features, I mean figuring out how to represent three-dimensional form in two-dimensional space. Most of his drawings look like the problem is in misplacing features, drawing them in the wrong shapes and messing up body proportions.
Stylize from life, not from other stylized drawings! You should study other drawings when you're trying to figure out how other artists solve the problem of making certain elements of a body appealing, not when you're trying to understand the body in the first place.

Also go quantitive rather than qualititive.
For example do 6 hands rather than say do hands or do some awesome hands.

K2D Exercise 4, Drawing your own eyes from a 3/4 angle. There are times that I draw lines that I feel are completely out of place. Is it in line with K2D to erase these lines? Also does anyone have a recommendation for pencil/brush/pen settings that will allow me to try my hand at adding tone? The book is starting to ask for tone and its probably the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life, and I got a Bach in mathematics.

I absolutely hate using pencil and paper to draw though, and I have only started drawing recently because I have a digital media to draw with. I would also like to clarify what I meant when I said that adding tone is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life. I did not mean that adding tone is impossibly difficult because I am on a tablet drawing. I meant that my mind can not begin to grasp properly adding tone to any drawing. I am not trying to be a special snowflake, I just really hate drawing with a normal pencil, and I know that I would never take up this pastime if I had to draw using them.

Not him, but adding tone is literally just flat shading. That's all you need to think of it as.

Some artists choose to take their tones further, but there's no need. Shit, there's no "need" to use tones either. Flat line art can work very well if drawn well, and hatching if used sparingly also does the trick. Tones are useful for giving a drawing some "pop", though.

With the way I was positioned, there was some extreme light hitting the bridge of my nose that created some areas of almost pure white light. How do I represent this with tone? To me if there is an area that is pure white it would be represented with no lines there, but then that would imply that all of the other areas have to be some shade darker than that, which would cause me to shade my entire face. Should I just not represent these bright areas?

Fill drawing with tone, erase areas of highlight.

Take a look at a bunch of different artists who work in B&W with tones (mostly mangaka), a lot of them have a lot of tone work because it's a job they can give to their assistants that doesn't require a huge amount of skill.
