This is old as shit. There was a small scene on Youtube about this type of aesthetic as far as 2007-2009. The best one was garbagebitch or something like that, can’t remember her name and could never find her again. Nobody could nor can top her.

There's quite a few art movements that formed on instagram. Someone should do some research and catalog them.

it is ironic art. that's part of the point. it's trash and they know it, but this kind of aesthetic does appeal to certain people and irony is a part of it. it gives the possibility to do things a certain way.

in that regard it's similar to camp in movies. pink flamingos for example is a good movie and you should watch it, but you have to understand where it's coming from and what the point of the whole thing is. these people are very well aware of what they are doing.

Hannah Hoch was doing Dada collage like 100 years ago.
