Because when executed properly, it can make an image way more appealing. It's not like this artist doesn't try to make good anatomical pieces, obviously they're very talented. Everyone has their off days and deadlines need to be met and such.

Because it's hard to point to someone's stylization and say it's "wrong" but it's easy to point to someone's anatomical accuracy and say it's "wrong". It's a subjective vs objective matter, something can be objectively incorrect anatomically but the same can't be said for stylization.

My point is only that stylization cannot be right or wrong because it is in its nature deviating from objective reality. However, anatomical accuracy is judging art by how close it is to reality.

I think you're experiencing a crisis. You probably sank many hours into "studying" and now can't imagine anyone else being successful without having the anatomy to spent so much time working on. Kind of like the reverse of story about salty grapes.

Anatomy is for crabs, being a stickler about fine anatomy is stupid. All you need is to know enough to draw a convincing human being, and the rest is up to style.

Because knowing how It works allows you to make any styling decisions with consideration and gives you even more options to choose whatever you find more attractive to the eye
even in anime there's a lot of knowledge in anatomy the picture you provided has a lot of knowledge and practice, a lot of /ic/ people complains about non anime cartoon drawings for being simplistic an without any proportion whatsoever but then they also complain about anatomy without realizing that an anime style needs anatomy more than the generic non asian cartoon they complain about, personally I like all forms of human expressions in visual art it's like a look to the mind of the artist and his tastes will it be cartoon, anime, classical, surrealism, pure realism, digital, 3d digital, 3d traditional or whatever all of them require a certain level of knowledge in certain areas and you can translate the knowledge you have in one to the other it's exciting!

Well the point is without knowledge in anatomy anime drawings will be just a noodle with big eyes so try to learn more every day to have the power to make your own decisions and enjoy your journey!

The point of anatomy study isn't to draw "correctly." This is what all the free spirits who proudly disdain any serious study constantly misunderstand. In fact almost the opposite is true - Patrick J Jones once mentioned how understanding anatomy was freeing for him. Knowing the "rules," he could focus all his energies on his creative vision rather than technicalities.
The reason to learn anatomy is so you can draw incorrectly, improbably, or exaggeratedly, but with, ultimately, a feeling of truth to the incorrectness, the improbability, the exaggeration.
It's like learning how to read and write. You don't learn how to read and write so you can write grammatically correct but meaningless sentences. "The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog."
You learn to read and write to better express yourself, to communicate something of value. So okay, grammar nazis exist - do we therefore disdain the value of literacy?
